Apart from blisteringintelligence only I seem to like the indicators. It goes actually, looks nice to me.
Not a fan of the paint colour though. How is it running? Did you replace any major engine/transmission related parts? Cylinder, crank, plates, gears, etc? You are not going to reveal us the conversion bit are you

Ask around, I have been telling everyone I talk to on phone from this forum, that if you see silver tail panels for Shogun, OEM, inform me. Any price (feasible ).Quote:
I am sticking to the indicators. Till Yamaha produces some better quality sensible indicators. These are good. The chrome gives an extra shine to the bike. Indicators are actually required heavily in Kolkata just like in any city, where you zoom through the traffic (as you would if you are on a RX) you need to signal fast which way you are intending to go. The white glasses of the indicators are actually very helpful in daytime. Only Piston rings, clutch plates and the reed valve was replaced. Bike is running like a seasoned RX 100. You can whack it to 90 kmph effortlessly. Thats the top speed I have driven it today just for a test. I am otherwise a cool rider. 60 kmph max.The 6V to 12V conversion is done only W.R.T lights. The charging coil is re-winded and is fed via a small attachment (that the coil guy has given me and it is a pouch sort of thing - I have zero idea whats inside it) to a 12V KB100 regulator to charge the battery. The rest remains the same. See figure. There are no issues so far with this system. However the coil rewinding has to be done by some experienced person. The whole thing is sort of plug and play, you do not have to do any surgery on the wiring. I had repeatedly asked about reliability and CDI etc...and the guy looked at me like I am the last dumbass standing in this world. He had to show me 6 RX 100s using the same system for years. I breathed easy after that. Logically what is happening is, you are changing the "charging coil" to 12V specs and charging a 12V battery and using 12V lights and horns. Thats about it. The other way is to put the whole RX 135 electrical stuff onto the bike. That is a costly way, and parts availability an issue. I need my lights and horn to work on 12V, so far so good. Total cost for coil rewinding and Jadoo pouch was Rs 1150.00 and Rs 88 for the rectifier. I will show you my lights, probably have to shoot a video.

So you didn't change the wiring kit?
Why KB100 rectifier? RX135 could have been used Any particular reason? With respect to performance, same here 90kmph is effortless, thereafter its got not much I feel.

Because the coil guy specifically told me to use the KB100 rectifier, what I feel is the rewinded charging coil is actually using KB100 12V specs. ![]() Oh and the 135 OEM is not available! |

oh... I didn't know that. Doubling up of voltage I thought would lead to issues. Great
Got that.

- Ya not a harm. The wiring kit has no role to play here basically.
