Default The RR700 goes to Lonavala

Rode the beast to Lonavala last weekend. Had an absolute blast on the few twisties that came as I went up the ghats. The bike has so much torque that it went thumping away like the incredible hulk in 4th gear...its like having an automatic drive. There is so much torque even at low rpms that gear shifts are seldom required when going up the slopes.

Handling is beautiful...was scraping the undercarriage / footpegs/ something  at almost every turn

I had a friend following me (were going to the same bbq party) in a car who took some pics that i am sharing with you. From Khapoli to Lonavala, I followed him on the Expressway by mistake (where bikes are not allowed) . I did enjoy that a lot .

The bike is still being run in (has not yet done 2,000 miles) so was heating up...made aa cpl of 5 min stops on the way. Generally was doing 70-80 kmph (so difficult to rein in the right wrist) coupled with some short bursts of speed up to 120-125kmph.

125kmph comes up very quickly. Even on the 5th gear the bike accelerates very fast. I don't have an rpm meter but I think it’s running higher revs than I want coz the vibrations are quite pronounced at 100+kmph even in 5th gear. Will go in for longer ratio's and get a larger front sprocket when I send it for supercharging.

Someone asked me for performance figures...well I don't know how to get them...need accurate speedometer / GPS readings...am not yet pushing the bike right now so no point presently. But will get them for sure when the bike is fully run in. Am also keen to find out how fast she goes. Judging from the way she went to 120-125 with such ease and basically kept accelerating, I think 150-160 is easily achievable. But then let’s see.

If anyone knows of a dynometer in Bombay, which I can use to get torque and bhp readings at rear wheel , please let me know.

Thanks

Vivek
