next update - Got a brand new seat for the bike, with the rectangular embossing in the seat. The old one was ok, but it had been re-done with a plain seat cover.

just did about 70 kms on the bike and got home, last 30 of which were on the new seat.. Im loving it!!!!

so much, that all the other bikes are parked, covered and cleaned, but im just enjoying riding this!

Finally after a long and arduous year, the engine is finally complete. After several delays, sourcing parts here and there and collecting, and taking the final plunge, here are some pictures of the assembly, and the final product...

Nice. Instead of painting the engine cases, should have taken a scotch brite with some rin/surf/wheel and scrubbed. Would have left a beautiful alu finish.

EDIT: Coupla observations, clutch pushrod looks a bit worn out, plus instead of getting new screws you should have got allen bolts.

I've replaced most of the bolts on my bike tO Allen 3, 5, 6. I have to carry just 3 allen keys to dissassemble most of the bike Plus the heads dont slip, tightening you dont need an impact wrench.

@sunny - true. The bike in the background has allen bolts. But this was only for the first build. Whenever next the cover is opened, the screws will be replaced with allen bolts.

@dd - the bike is up and running. These pics were taken earlier. She needed a vm 26 and after installing that, she is amazing to ride. The front actually lightens up above 5500 rpm, and she goes great all the way to 9k or so!!

Need to fit a new caliper, and handlebar, and then it should be complete.
