Thumbs up 1st Engine Run after rebuilding "The Beast - RD350" (March-2008)

Have been into biking since long but getting boot up here on BCM now. I would start off from the point wherein my Nomad (1984 Rd350) was Rejuvenated after being in relation for 6 years.

It was 2008 Summer's when the time was right to once again fall in love with the grease, tools, fragrance of paint/liqour and spending evening at garage after a long office day. Here is a collage of the phase...

The job finished by 29th March 2008 eve and it was already midnight when we finished final testings. We already missed our dinner, so decided to reach out to some dhaba.

Decided to hit Lonavala via old NH4 Panvel-Pune highway. My mech was going to accompany me so there was a bit delay. Packed the Stanley tool kit, 2 NGK Iridium spark plugs and finally we left Vashi at around 01:30AM on 30th March 2008. Nomad's successor, RX100 was along to make a team.

Welcome aboard Nomad, it is nice to another fan of RD350 on this forum. I'm sure you will enjoy your stay in this forum. Can you also let us know the changes that has gone into this re-build? I'm sure many would be eager too.

Please post an intro on to the 'Who are you' section on this forum if you have not done yet.

Default i am back.....

Well Sriram,

My NOMAD is a stock and have been trying hard to keep it stock. It has been a highly commuting bike all these years. As they say a bike on run is better than 2 in garage.

Maybe in coming months you may see changes including front disk, clip on, some stickers.

There are no plans to bring back those pipes to chrome for now.
