It needs a lot of attention. I can understand what you are feeling right now. We are on same boat.
Here at my place there is a 1935 Norton 500 standing dead with an old gentleman. I see it, touch it, feel it but can't take away with me. Not because that owner isn't selling it but even if i get it I don't have money to restore it now

I hope you get it for cheap. Try to pick it up and keep it with u for some years. Save some money till then.

All the best.
djvenom9111, u got a PM check it up

Still, in the unlikely event that there's someone who wants to fix it in my area I guess I could lend a hand and do as I'm told. Although I doubt that'd be much use given that I don't know anything and there's still a lot of parts to be procured.

I gather that this bike is pretty popular in Southeast Asia, so perhaps sourcing parts would need to be done from there, if at all...

So... in case anyone is still following this :P

I did some digging and it turns out that this bike's specs are similar to the XS 400 of the same time period. After some additional digging I found an owner's manual for an XS 400. Now all that remains is getting in touch with someone who can actually do the job.... and get a guesstimate according to what all needs to be replaced.

I probably don't have the money for this but at least I can start somewhere... money will always come sometime I guess.

Man this will be really challenging work... Think of this twice if you are going to buy this, if i where you i will not take this bike because sourcing of the parts will be a real PAIN... i don't think it will be really easy to get the parts... leave the cosmetic parts it can be overhauled in any condition, while looking at the bike pic i think the engine is also not in good shape, here's the pain starts... main concern is the parts availability, its not that easy... am not discouraging you but its reality... if it was an RD i would have said take it... but this is a different ball game altogether... Think and decide...

I don't think I have to buy it... its original owner abandoned it years ago and moved out from here. I still have to check up on how to 'legally' have it transferred to my name and all, but there would be no point in that if it can't be saved...

Came across this thread only now. Man that is a mess. This is what it's supposed to look like. Some people don't realise what they've got until its rotted away with time.
