Default Update Update!!!

Hey Guys!

Rode the bike for a little more than 100km today. Had to get the lock set replaced and was left with some time to wheeze around on the rxz as running in has to be completed. Kept the horses under control, however I did push the bike to around 80kmph.

But when the bike was at around 80-90kmph, it was "jerking" as if its lacking fuel (any comments on this?).

As far as the FE of the bike is concerned, i guess its returning a decent FE as i filled up the tank with RS 150 (3% 2T) and no sign of bike being hitting the reserve.

Default Don't push to 80 !!!

That jerk u felt was start of seizure Never push to 80 again for at least 1,000 kms.

Rs 150 = approx 3litre of petrol
Still on ON, means your bike is giving around 50kmpl !! Run it a bit rich in running period.

ya...its running on rich fuel mixture...

i guess i read somewhere that we should not run the bike continuously at a constant speed...thats y pushed it a bit to break the monotony...and that too only for a few seconds...may be 5-7 secs...

would attach the pics soon

Kindly complete your run-in period (Atleast 1000Kms) & then try to open full throttle in each gear & let us know what top-speeds you achieve & was there any missing/fluttering etc encountered in each gear. I assume you are running a stock 4-speed barrel (4TL00).

And yes, the bike desperately needs a re-build, it really looks totally shagged at the moment. Take your time in this, but prepare a plan of things which you want to do & then ask for review by senior members here.

Also, Rs.5000/- seems way too less for me as far as engine re-build is concerned. Please do some study on RX series bikes, maybe better to go through some re-build threads here to get a rough idea about RX.

Hope this helps.

P.S: Kindly replace those Speedo+Tacho combo.

Yup, the bike is running with a faulty meter. It was not actually working when I got the bike.I somehow got it repaired only to know the kilometer reading for the running in. Would be replacing the entire cosmetic thing soon.
