Default Disk Brakes in a RD350

Hi all the rd people i have a doubt about putting disk barkes in a RD350, many a forums that i have been say that the RD's produced or which were awailable in India must not be fitted with disk brakes while in the links provided by various posters here depict pictures of rd with disk brakes [?] can any one enlighten on this.. as people say rd is an old bike which is not suitable for disk brakes i.e. it does not have that kind of weight distribution [:0]

HI,

you can comfortably go for the front disk.

the rd in india came without discs .

otherwise the rd came with discs,

the front disc is recommended to use with rear brake toenjoy stability and race.

good luck

RD is a old bike but remember it is only bike here developed for racing,it takes discs easily, just need to have good shocks and swing arm bushes.

There is a person I know in Janakpuri, who has fitted disc brakes in his rx100, and that too both front and rear, thats the only Indian bike that I have seen with rear disc brakes. Apparently he is the disc brake expert in Delhi. He has his own workshop, where you can get imported disc brakes fitted in.

The eliminator or karizma disc brake works perfectly on an rd. I rode my cousins rd with elim disc brake up front, believe me it literally hauls the bike within a few seconds from speeds in excess of 100kph.
Regarding rear disc brake setup on an Rx, its a total wastage of money, rear disc will simply lock up the rear wheel at high speeds. A front disc with rear drum should work fine.
