I'll put it in a simple way.. a proper expansion chamber will improve the performance if jetted correctly . If its not chosen well it can decrease the mileage and ruin the engine.
Go for original Proton expansion [beware, lots of fake protons out there] . KRP quality is doubtful.

Every performance mod has the equal and opposite reaction to mileage

A bit compromise on the mileage for sure.

Pros would be increase in power , sound , addictive power delivery and attention .

Cons would be drop in milage , engine life , hearing problems , dogs chasing you , cops catching you , neighbours cursing you etc.

KRP are not worth spending your money on , try them for free if possible and see if you would like to spend your money on them, same goes with Proton.

Look for chambers that dont use the stock bend pipe for a start. The best chambers will be custom built ones , I look at them as a work of art. If you wish to understand them start reading up on them and look up pictures on the net .

Chambers work like Turbos on 4 stroke motors and you can expect maximum power gains with a chamber.

No two pipes are the same so you must keep experimenting with different ones to see which one you like best for that " Ultimate Setup" . Its a long journey this one

Just remember to keep your jetting safe/ rich so that you dont hole your piston.

@ Vampire, what is the difference with using the stock bent pipe vs a custom made one? this we are talking about street chambers only. I feel a chamber like Proton delivers enough performance on a stock header and stock engine.
