I'm trying to understand:-
1. What's the different between Reed valve assembly between RX100 and RX135 apart from part number. Is that 135 is slightly bigger?

2. Has anyone tried RX/RXG silencer assembly on to RX100 while restoration process and was there a world of difference in the exhaust note from the original pipes that came in?

3. CDI and Ignition coil units - are they functionally different between 100 and 135?

4. Coil plate-flywheel assembly - any different between 100 and 135.

5. Oil pump - what's the difference between 100 and 135(4s initial batch)?

Please educate me or rather say 'Master, teach me!'

the flywheel of the rx 135 is heavier compared to the rx100 flywheel

2. Has anyone tried RX/RXG silencer assembly on to RX100 while restoration process and was there a world of difference in the exhaust note from the original pipes that came in?........ He he he. I knew you would ask this. How about a Tiger with household Kitty (pussy) roar?

3. CDI and Ignition coil units - are they functionally different between 100 and 135?........ CDI is different for 100, 135 4-speed & 135 5-speed.

4. Coil plate-flywheel assembly - any different between 100 and 135......... Complete ignition itself is different.

5. Oil pump - what's the difference between 100 and 135(4s initial batch)?.......... They are the same, i.e the big one.

Please educate me or rather say 'Master, teach me!'........ You still want me to call you 'MASTER' ???

@Karthik:- Thanks.
1. The reason is 4S part number starts with 2YA for 135 and 36L for 100. Thanks for the clarification.
2. Lol... now, define your examples
3. Ok. Can I use 135 assembly on a 100?
4. Ok. Can I use 135 assembly on a 100?
5. that's what I thought too, just checked to make sure my understanding is correct.

Oh...those were my words ' Master, Teach me!'.

The Items HAVE to be different if the part numbers are different.
Yamaha will not take the trouble of giving different part numbers to the same item.

2 statements to support my claim:

- Anyone who has seen the parts catalog for the RX100 / RX135 / RXZ can see that there are a large number of items that still carry a 1A1 prefix (from the RD350). So logistically it is easier to maintain an inventory

- As I discussed with u the other day, how Yamaha is now Superseding part numbers for similar items to cut down on this very Logistical nightmare ...

Also remember, that in many cases items like the Oil Pump, etc are different for the bikes after Chassis number 005466 (RXZ 4-speed specific)

So in a nutshell:

Why will Yamaha take the trouble of giving different part numbers, and different sort box numbers and different prices, if the part are the same?!!!

Case in point:

I have an RX100 Parts catalog from 1985 and I have an RXG catalog from 1997 even there the oil pump has different part numbers.

Even if both are visually same, the parts are definitely different ...

For Eg.

In the RXG and the RXZ (before 05466) have a different Gear Drive and Hose for the oil pump than the RX100.

Post 05466, the the gear drive and the hose are the same as RX100 but the worm shaft is different ....

Hope I could clarify this

If further information is needed, I can dig deeper and let u guys know ...
