Default how do you know if it is rebored or not and which one?

Hello! how do you know if a Yezdi Cl 2 is rebored or not and which one - first or second or third? Also what is diff between JIKOV & PACCO carb on Yezdi Cl2 - I was told Jikov is Czech make and has larger cylinder size than PACCO, however PACCO gets you more mileage...Also has anyone put indicators to Yezdi cl 2 without batteries ( using a 2400 microFarad capacitor or so??) I was told it is not possible, however i read on net that for some 100 cc bikes including RX it is possible

Answering each point

  1. Reboring: Only way to tell is to open the engine and look at the piston size .5 (re-bored once), 1.0 (second re-bore), 1.5 (third and last oversize). Any mechanic who tells you that the bike needs to be re-bored simply by listening to it is full of BS. Don't trust him. He's just trying to make some money for himself.
  2. Yes, the Jikov is Czech and was the original carb to feature on the Jawa and early Yezdis. The Pacco is a Punjab make and featured on all the later Yezdis. Some people have claimed that the Jikov, while giving more power, guzzles more gas and gets flooded when on the side-stand. Thats utter nonsence, except for the power part. The power increase is noticeable I'm told (never checked it on the same bike myself so can't say for certain). The greater mileage came in later Roadkings due to the CDI instead of points. The fact that they had a Pacco was merely co-incidental. I have a good Pacco in my Roadking but my Uncle's old Jikov in his Jawa gives him far better mileage than I get. Most issues with the Jikov arise because ignorant mechanics fiddle with the carb and poke it and prod it and bend it with screwdrivers, damaging the carb jets and suchlike. Today a Jikov commands a huge price (just check Sandeep's classifieds ad ) and is coveted by any Jawa/Yezdi enthusiast. The Pacco is not a bad carb and is pretty hassle-free.
  3. Never seen a Yezdi with working indicators without a battery. Thought it wasn't possible. Perhaps through jugaad but I doubt it would last.
Cheers

Rahul

Guys my knees are shaking...going to open up the Yezdi tomorrow to try and start it up for the first time. The kick is jammed a bit so just checking block-piston clearances first before getting into the bottom-end.

Are replacement cables available for the Yezdi or are there any other bike cables that can be substituted?

Which switchgear is recommended for the Yezdi?

Thanks!

@guru

I dont know exactly - but this was a color that me mech proposed to paint my RK in. Just like you - I felt that this is better suited to a more curvaceous bike like the JAWA. I can check with the mech if you want but I doubt he knows the name etc...usually those chaps go with samples that their local painters have prepared and it might be a custom mix.

For the clutch cable, we use the the Kinetic Honda's rear break cable - very durable and effective.

Front brake cables are available.

Switchgear - old RX100 or latest ones from Rx135s are best -you will need that pass switch trust me - all yezdi's are notoriously poor in terms of braking, so if you decide to shoot past a braking car, you will need that pass switch.

I suggest you to get Vibrasonic minis with a relay and a Kinetic Honda battery - as long as you run the bike at least on a couple of days a week - the battery will be good. If you want the RK style large headlamp - make sure you also get the holder changed to a H4 type - the beam is good with a proper halogen H4.

All the best mate.

@rkboy

try looking for a replacement slide - if not available - get it greased - stop gap arrangement.

Default Yezdi 350 Silencers

Hi All,

Need some help as I want a pair of Yezdi-350 silencers. Know for sure these are the one of the rarest to find. Any information on this would be really appreciated.

Jay.
