Default Buying RX100 86 model

Guys need help ....
I am planning to buy an RX100 and I saw one today in south Delhi. It’s a 86 model and the owner is asking me 10K for it. I could not negotiate with him as I was getting late for work but by looking at it I could figure out that the bike has been standing inside the house for at least 1.1.5 years. Please tell me what all things to check before I buy it and also if its possible to get such an old bike transferred to my name in delhi. Are the parts for RX100 still available ??

Looking forward for your help

Thanks

Not to offend or have anything against ppl buying an old motorcycle; what would one like to do? Enjoy a smooth, hassle free ride on highways or spend greasy hands fixing things or ride to garage every now & then?

Its quite unfortunate that the Govt doesn't support 2S anymore in this country. So if one is looking to restore & ride it occasionally, its fine, but Rx is not to be used like it was used before for the parts & forth coming years. That's my opinion.

thats not the case at all,i use my RX as my daily ride its a Trouble free bike, never ever given any problem or gave up on me

it all comes to down to how you set up your bike & make it run right

Please stop giving RX "the vintage" Status, its very much alive & kicking

Well, it can run, run fine enough. But that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking something as perfect as a showroom vehicle. Get even a Libero today & you can find all the parts or even P150 UG1 & you can get all the parts to make it stock 2001 model.

Yeah, with all the con mechanics around & inflated spare parts right, how does one setup to make the bike running right?

Its not the status I award, the legend earns it self

Be it problemestic or not, if I were to pick a bike today, I'd definitely move-on with technology, I'd move with the currents ones available in the market today. I'll buy a 4 str(j)oke.

^+1.
After hearing/getting abused from kulla, I sold my Disco and got a 135. I use it 75kms*4days a week without any hiccups. As long as the bike is set right, am not finding any issues!

4ST are hassle free. Read, no oil mix, constant plug checking, parts hunting and all such sorts.
But Offlate have seen many threads in here,
Eg: FZ Mileage problem, Top end dropped coz of KN
(I know all these problems crop up coz of a shaggy work from a so-called-Tuner)

Having ridden my ReXy for almost a month, I may go the-kulla(arvind) way. Twin ReXy in the garage

Guys both of you are correct in your own ways. We really need to give the judgement based on who the user is. In this case, the guy already has an RD350 (Saw his other thread) & hence maintaining an RX100 should not be difficult for him. It all depends on experience.

And Ganesh, i have told you before, not all mechs are the same. Lets not argue on that anymore.

Another thing working against the 2-strokes may be the FE part, guys here in B'lore a liter of Petrol is now costing Rs.65/- for Shell Super. This is a practical view.

RX is not history nor vintage, IMO it is a Revolution, it was the one which started it all & even to date it holds that status. & for guys who don't appreciate this, my middle finger is up for the offering. Nothing can replace an RX, nothing.

@ Arvind, RX rocks maga, & it was born to kick a##.
