As most of you all know, my RXG started out as a BigBore project with lots of expectations. I was promised a street port delivering at least 18 bhp, "loads of low end torque" etc.etc. To start with the project took a whole 8 months to finish. The project failed miserably. The bike used to bog down heavily in the initial rpms and even after fitting a 30mm carb and lots of experimentations with the carburetion the powerband kicked after 4500 rpms which is useless for what was supposed to be a street stroker. Lots of precious money and time lost.

8. Latest is the Mikuni VM 26 carb with a UNI filter. Its a RXking carb and to my surprise it is such a direct fit and perfect jetting that i didnt even have to adjust the airscrew much!
Hey Doc, nice to see your RX. A piece of advice from me, a 5-Speed bore (4TL10), that too ported to maybe stage 3 or more is not very suitable for rides in city, but it can be managed as against what you have pointed out. It all depends on the way it is ported & the port timing, also it depends a lot on which piston you use for bores running more than 1.00mm.

If your earlier bore was a 5-speed & ported to max, then i am afraid you can't compare it to a stock 4-speed barrel in low RPMs. We can have 18BHP+ out of both 4-speed & 5-speed barrel, but the toruqe is better in case of 4-speed barrel. I know this, because each of my bike has both these setups.

My suggestion is get some work done on your current 4-speed barrel, stage by stage & see the gains. If you or Arun are ever in B'lore i would love to meet you guys & show you my bikes. My bikes are not screamers, they are built to Kill.

Are you sure the VM26 in picture is of the original RX-K or RX-Z 6-Speed? What is the standard jetting on this?

Lastly, please post pics of your other bikes as well, want to see that Kinetic Honda of yours.

Hey thanks Karthik, I would love to see your bikes too. Right now i have tried to extract most power out of the stock engine by addons like Fiber reeds, port cleaning, better carb and filter. Btw, the carb is the same replica VM whose pic id posted on JDs spare parts thread . Think its got 20/180 jets and im more than happy from its perf. plus its super value for money too! I have a new Mikuni TM28 also but it'll be a bit overkill for a stock engine.
My other bikes pics are posted in a separate thread ' my RD and Shogun pics' .
The kinetic looks fully stock now.. its still fast and i love it more than any modern 4stroke scooter. These three are at my other home at Indore.

@ Jaggu, my mech did some tweaks to it. I have experienced that using the original clutch and shoes+ springs+ belt gives you a much better acceleration. Once we had a kinetic 110cc block piston added.. he also had a Shogun piston installed once besides carb changes.
I couldnt personally see all the rebuild back then but it was the fastest stock kinetic in open scooter class Dirt track race and even had won a 3rd position! the 1st and 2nd were modded.

If you can find the clutch and parts, just bore your block properly and even a SAM piston performs well.

Eversince i took matters in my own hands, many changes have taken place on the bike and now finally theres a level of satisfaction and it runs much much better with a great initial and is a joy to ride.

Heres a brief list of the changes made over the last 10 months.
1. first thing was to change the block back to a stock one with ports cleaned and polished.
2. new ART 1st OS piston set.
3. changed the fake noisy 5 speed gearbox and reverted back to the original 4 speed one. [Couldnt afford to spend more on a new OE 5 sp. GB now]
4. complete engine overhaul with new bearings and oil seals.
5. Boyesen dual stage fiber reeds on a stock reed cage.
6. 5 sp engine covers.
7. RDD CDI with 90/100 kit
8. Latest is the Mikuni VM 26 carb with a UNI filter. Its a RXking carb and to my surprise it is such a direct fit and perfect jetting that i didnt even have to adjust the airscrew much!
9. replaced the fake clutch plates with RXking ones.
10. RXZ rear mudguard.
More in the pipeline is replacing the clutch bell [yes, it didnt even last 10 months after the rebuild!]

Some pics-
Paint scheme and decals etc. designed by yours truly. Special thanks to 'BigBore' aka Arun for all the help and devoting his time whenever needed.
Hey Big Brother glad to see your own thread
First of all you don't need to thank me, as i feel it's me who needs to say a big THANK YOU as i got inspired seeing you and your rides from the age of 14. I still remember the first time i sat on your RD350 way back when i was a kid I used to see you, Dr. Bishwadeep Paul (my cousin brother) and Dr. Ashish Rane (another very good friend) ripping on the streets of Nashik and always think, "Mera number kab ayega?"
I learnt riding/stunting a bike on the Shogun from you guys. Will never forget your rally days too. Those were some days which i can never forget in my lifetime. You are my true inspiration in 2-stroking, Nitesh Bhai. Seriously after hearing you restoring & modifing your RXG, i got the idea of buying my 1996 RXG and modifying it too. It was due to your inputs and expertise that i have 4 beautiful beasts in my stable.
It was really sad to see the final outcome of your big bore project, especially after loads of false promises made to you. I was a witness to all what you went through and trust me it was a waste of tremendous waste of money and time!
Hats off to you that you didn't keep quite and took matters in your own hands and started restoring her again right from the scratch. I am glad i had the privilege of being part of your restoration. She looks beautiful now and powerful too. Will come over to your place in the evening and check out your new setup. I also have a small surprise to show you

Cheers!!

Thats one hell of a kinetic you have brother! Will never forget the time it was in my hands. It used to do over 100kmph. I still remember how i had beaten a CBZ with your race spec Kinetic!

Cheers!!
