Default Presenting the worlds first supercharged Enfield: The RR700 Prostreet

Hiya All xbhp'ers

Been some time since I had an update on my last thread on our project bike, the RR700 ProStreet Roadster. See thread : Presenting the RR700 Prostreet Turbo: Vote for the Ultimate Bullet Mod Job

well, i finally managed to get some time off work and check on how master bike tuner and good friend Ranjit Randhawa was faring on our supercharging project and boy do i have some updates for you.

As i had mentioned in my previous thread, we had procured an AMR 500 super charger which we were planning to use. Well, we have also procured a few more goodies that we are using on our little project:

Namely, a monsterous Mikuni TM34, a 34 mm carb for that grunt power to feed that blower

the entire top end of the old classic bullet engine has been ditched to give way for the head of the 500EFI Classic, which we managed to get our paws on...We think the improved flow metrics of this head will improve the performance of our bike

Ranjit has also designed a completely new lubrication system...and this bike will be oil cooled, high capacity oil pumps have been used.

The beauty of the build is the extension of the crank shaft from the right side of the engine to power the blower via a pulley. The way Ranjit has designed and manufactured this mechanism is absolutely top class....I don't even want to get into the mechanical mumbo jumbo on the challanges Ranjit has to overcome to accomplish this...he should patent some of the work performed...

We have started this bike a couple of times with the blower...works like a charm...now we need to design a new tank as the new head is taller than the earlier one, making the fibre glass tank Ranjit had made absolutely useless.

Once the tank is done, we will begin road trials and start experimented with boost levels and work with trial and error to sort out the jetting and get a smooth power delivery set up up and running.....

As of now, the blower pulley is running at 0.867 times the final drive pulley and based on the various complicated formulae we are consulting from a couple of books generate in theory about 4psi of boost...

But thats the theory, will keep you posted on what really happens in real life.

For now, we have a pukka super charged thumper....I think we will do road trials for another month, after which we will take the bike apart to attend to the cosmetics, i.e. paint job, electroplating of the engine and supercharger, decals, etc. Bike should be ready by May (assuming Ranjit does not get drawn away by something more interesting)

For now, some pics to whet your appetite...for the Worlds first super charged 700CC RE based performance cruiser....

Cheers

You are right there mate, well partially...standard bore of 500 is 84mm...this one has been bored to 87mm...to the old 535 size...it has been over stroked...stroke has been lengthened from 94 odd mm to 115 mm.

so if you apply your class X maths, it yields a cc of about 684 cc.

Bike is currently undergoing road trials in Kharar, off chandigarh..watch this space...am going there on 22nd...hope to take it for a spin to Shimla if its ready...

cheers

Super awesome stuff.

Which Car's Piston you are using now? I believe it has to come off from a Car only... Because temperatures will go much higher inside the combustion chamber... after the boost... and I can see you mentioning about the oil cooler.

700 CC... which means... you must be using a piston from a car upwards of 2000-2200cc engine capacity. If I may guess.. it can be from Accord.. or may be even from a diesel engine.
