Default Too Fast Too Furious: India's Fastest Drag Spec Yamaha RD350

As the title suggests, we are planning of building an RD350 right from scratch to suit drag specification. The intention is to take her to 11.xx sec league, which has never been attempted in India before.

My friend has over 20Yrs of experience in the field of 2-strokes. He started his career in TVS & then moved on to do his own business. Blew up the factory TVS mopeds with his drag spec Hero Puchs & TVS50s. Realizing the potential for racing (though racing is not his bread & butter), he developed his own drag spec RX100 with 135 pistons (at that time 135 wasn’t even launched in India!!!!). Things moved on & he then developed his Drag Spec RX135 & working on it for several years, it is able to beat TVS factory Shaolins with the limited budget he has.

What should have been done a decade back was finally put into action. Now the plan is to build the fastest ever RD in India in Drag scene.
Let us talk something more practical which has been achieved till date. There are 2 front runners from B’lore whose RDs are capable of doing 12.xx secs blast for a quarter mile, but the funny part is the RX135 already does 13.xx secs for a quarter mile!!!!!!!! So whats the point of having a twin cylinder 2-stroke which is just about a sec quicker than a single cylinder 2-stroke!!!!

The answer to this question is the machine itself & maybe the rider too. So we want to concentrate on the machine first, build something which is bloody fast & gives us a true top speeds in excess of 170Kmph (Not in quarter mile though). Hence the quest for the same has begun.
For any automobile, Engine is the heart & hence sourcing all the necessary parts (OE & Racing) have already begun. Will be updating with pics & specs as & when there is a progress.

Here are the updates as of now. Enjoy them for now.

Note 1: I am not convent educated & my English is not all that good as compared to most of the posers available plenty. Whatever I speak is practical & race proven.

Note 2: Sorry about the picture quality, I am a poor man I can’t afford an SLR!!!

- Karthik..

Guys thanks a lot for your wishes. It will take some time to wake this sleeping beauty (we are thinking around 3 months).

@ karthikdattag

I'am sure you must of heard of the RD at the recent Nandi Hill Climb (Race to the clouds) built by Tejinder Pal Singh. The bike is not only awsome looking but has crazy power too.

Here is the bike that was featured on FB. Just a share and hope it helps.
Unique RD

The most unique RD ever
