Smile Restoring Grandpa's Pride ....(Rajdoot 175)

Hi Guys,

Last time when I went Home for Diwali, My mother told me take out some Diwali stuff from the Store room, While I was looking for the Diwali Decoration Stuff, I Saw some thing covered in A white Cover, I tried to remove the cover but it was tied...Took the other stuff and next day morning out of curiosity when back to check out what it was...

When I removed the cover it was a bike....Whoaaaa

I remember long back in school I use to go on this with my father. I immediately took it out and washed it. There was lot of rust on it but after washing, the tank and other body was ok.

I was like I will start it again, but my father was against it and said it is difficult to get all the parts and there is a lot of work, sadly I came back to work, but was always thinking about the bike.

I had a word with my friend (Vikrant) and told him that wanted to restore it, After listening that he was also very excited about the same.

Had a word with my dad, and told him that I want that bike and let me check what I can do....

He sent me the bike from Transport...Me and My friend took it from there went to a nearby mechanic and told him to clean the tank and carburetor (As told by my father),

Mechanic did the same and We tried to start the bike...

And here we go it started...with a droom droom sound, Was very excited took it back home riding on the road, it was very fantastic experience.

Now we have decided to restore it completely....

After a lot search in pune nanapeth...

Finally found a place where each and every part was available, but yes the prices are where to high.

Parts bought till now are as follow.

1. Full new wiring set.
2. York.
3. Levers.
4. Speedometer gear, cable / speedometer repair.
5. Accelerator and front brake cable.
6. Grips.
7. Mirrors.
8. Magnet Horn,
9. Shock covers front and rear.
10. Footrays front and back.
11. Bearings front and rear (Handle Bearing)
12. Bulb.
13. Taillight assembly.
14. spark plug
15. Ignition Key

Note : all this parts cost around 4k..

We have found a rajdoot specialist, Have given him all the parts and the bike will be ready by tomorrow hopefully. It will be in full condition if he gives us the bike.

Will post the pics soon.

Things to be done are as follow,

1. Jawa rear panels will be fit on rajdoot.
2. Cherry color on bike.
3. Engine and other parts buffing(Steel plating)
4. Seat cover repair.

This above things will be done after a month, once the bike is back in condition completely.

after all this days the bike engine is still in condition and the bike starts in once kick.

We, me and my friend are very excited about the complete restoration.

Will post the pics soon...

Guys stay tuned lot more things to come.

Many thanks.

Stay Tuned for pics...
