^from some mailing lists in yahoo etc ,thump is missing as in AVL engines.also ,still with all modern engine design ,it is still the same nagging noisy bullet engine only

Ack, this modern machine does not generate any interest in hardcore classic enfield lovers. No thump, less meat, no carbs ... have they even taken the decomp out? |

There is not so positive response from RE in UK and all(source:mailing lists).
I am wondering ,why cant they do some R&D on std cast iron bullets to continue ,at least in India? RE madras ,are you hearing? I simply dont want to hear the death of CI engine.first it was my beloved 2 strokers died due to PUC norms.I hope CI bullet atleast will be able to pass PUC ?atleast ,it is a 4 stroke engine;right?

Hey buddy, UCE means Unit Construction Engine. It is not the name of a particular engine but a type, which simply means that the many components of a vehicle, namely the gearbox, clutch assembly is a part of the engine itself. So now instead of having a separate gearbox as in the traditional Bullet, you have an engine which unites these things into one "meat" (as many of my friends here put it). The only advantage that you get out of this setup is increased power as the frictional losses are minimized & it is also said to be lower on maintainance although I can't comment on this aspect. As for modifications, my own personal opinion is to go ahead & modify a cast iron engine, but then the choice of capacity depends on you. And hey buddy, since we are on this topic, please post up the details of any supplier or manufacturer that you know of who can provide performance parts for the Bullet. Hope this has helped. Take care. Happy thumping, Prakhar |
