Default My RD350 back in action with a Fury Disc

Hai Guys,
Finally, my RD is back in action with a brand new fury disc up front. Spent 11K altogether.. used P220 caliper, master, hose, Fazer/Gladi modded hub, new spokes and a brand new Fury disc sourced from Madras with the help of Mr. M.R.Rajkumar sir. I express my heart-felt thanks to Atul_astro for helping me out in making this dream come true. He sourced me a spare used fury disc with adaptor plate and screws which i used with the NOS fury disc. The disc has a little stain over it. But let me tell you, the braking is more or less the same as the drum set up. I suspect some air bubbles in the set up..will have to bleed the system once again.. well.. will check that later.. enjoy the pics..

Arun, congrats. Looks very neat.
Just look at the contact area of the disc. Its much lesser than the Fury's caliper. You should have tried a more effective caliper with a larger pad area for better bite.
Check the bleeding again. Do a gravity bleed, it will solve everything.

SS braided lines might cost some 500-700 bucks. You get them here in Bangalore, but not gonna make any great difference. You bleed these perfectly, its more than enough.
You could have tried the Comet only. Or even the CBZ/Karizma is wider than the pulsar. Also the RTR.

Some NOOB doubts that i need clarification on:

1.Why are'nt the discs slotted?

2.How do these discs dissipate heat under braking?

3.Which is the deciding factor when it comes to better bite, a bigger disc or a bigger (read wider) pad?

4.What is this "Fury" parts that are available, are they spares for a bike called the "Fury"? or is it the name of some aftermarket brand?

Nice looking bike Arun. Like Joel said you could stick to a Comet/CBZ/Zma pad. But I would suggest you to get SS braided lines, if you want it for the following reasons.

Normal rubber hoses expand under pressure and tend to give a squishy/soft feeling at the lever. I personally feel this is no big deal for 95% of the time, but if you want perfect, firm, brake feel time after time, go for the SS braided hose. There's virtually no expansion, and would need less force to work at their peak levels.

Like Joel said, you do get ones for 500ish but you want top end stuff, go for Galfer or Spiegler. Expensive stuff, about 2.5k.

1. Coz these are from the 70's... classic ones
2&3 may be joel can give a better answer than me..
4. You never heard of a bike called Fury? It was a bike launched by RE in the late 80's... its actually a Zundapp KS175[ Kardan Sport 175 ]
