Default Suzuki Shaolin

Guys my hunt for a stroke exotic with a tight budget took a cool u turn today. Theres this one person i met who told me he wants to sell his Shaolin for a steal price. Now even before i take the next step of going with my mechanic to see the bike i want to know from you guys are Shaolin parts easily available...... i stay in Goa so bear in mind the fact we do not have that many bike outlets like b'lore b'bay and delhi
....................................so wat u guys say is it worth going for the shaolin in terms of spares availabilty and service is considered??????

waiting for ure reply at the soonest

spares are hard to find these days.. still, if you love two-strokes, its has enough punch on its tap.. go for it and give her a complete rebuild and keep her for life.

Thumbs down Goa-shaolin-rust-spares-avoid

The dealer in Goa - Dempo will have surely forgotten about a bike called Shaolin ever existed. Avoid this bike if you live in Goa as spares are impossible to locate and petrol tanks of all TVS bikes rust super fast even in a city like Pune. Besides that, the Shaolin is a nowhere bike, read that as neither outright power, nor good mileage.

Shaolin can do wonders with a mild port job & chambers.. it has enough cubic capacity[ i believe its 142cc, correct me if im wrong]& a 5-speed gear box.. better forget about mileage if ur keen on buying a performance 2-stroke like Shogun & Shaolin.

Shaolin is 138cc. The shaolin indeed has a lot of potential. The true fact is that its the fastest single cylinder Indian 2-stroke in the country. Has won several national titles. Built by TVS racing. The drag bike pumps 32bhp with ease and revs till 13000rpm.

However parts are impossible to find. TVS has their own resources, so they can always build them for racing. Avoid them for street commute. I'm an ex-shaolin owner and I sold it 4yrs ago and I could hardly source parts back then, being in bangalore and having contacts.

Instead find a good RX. Will keep u happy for years with plenty of parts around the corner.

guys am lookin at this as a long term investment of mine.....as in gradually to get the parts orderd or fabricated and restore it. I dont want it soon i.e. in running condition. Want it more like a collectors item as i loVE i simply LoVe the dirty smelly 2-strokes. i fag smelled like 2-strokes i wud fag.........lol..................so even if it means it will take ages and may be like 5 years to repair the bike and restore it i wouldnt really mind.

so what you guys say now? Availability of spares is something i spoke to an x tvs works manager guy n he told me not impossible but very hard to find....

thanx for ure reply's so far hope to expect some more.......thanx in advance

I guess most of your questions have been answered. Shaolin is a very old bike and I would not recommend going for something like Shaolin. As someone above said I would rather go for a RX or something that people are still using in good numbers. How many Shaolins you see around? It is going to be a hard job to maintain it. If you have the money and willing to take the risk for the passion of biking go for it. Listen to your heart. Else listen to us .
