Default Picked up my 2nd Yummie.. well , its a baby though

Hello friends,
Just picked up my 2nd Yamaha. Its an RX100, 1990 model. paid 15.5k for it. its in good condition. needs some chroming and all. The serious issue is with the suspension. the front forks are leaking .inspected already.. Will have to change both of the fork tubes. wot are the approximate costs of these tubes? inputs please.. im intending to dump my old rear shocks too.. planning to go for SNS / Libero, gladi ones.. any idea which one suits/works better with RXs as its a light bike? cant use Gas-shocks. im sure.

Ive changed to Yezdi tyre& rim @ the rear already.. better riding position now.. better stance.. Will post the pics very soon.. please comment on the suspension issues..

Arun bhai, congrats! Why small yamaha when you got the real big one? Giving the '86 away? I am here always!
Dont go for the gas shocks from the Pulsars, dont really work on the Rx( I know from experience). The Victors gas shocks may be better but I would rather you get a new pair of stock shocks.

Congrats get endurance shocks are best in the business nowadays its better than gabriel. since you have downsized the rear why dont you try 13teeth sprocket on the front.

Front shocks inner tubes cost 300 rs approx, total overhaul of shocks is about not more then 1k rs.

For rear shock use Galdi's setup, they r direct fit and suits very well.
cost of new pair is 1200-1300 rs approx.

Congrats.

I am no expert on the topic of second hand bike price but isnt 15 k is a little on the higher side for a 90 model?

No way dude shes my first love.. cant part with her.. she will be mine forever.. This bike is for daily use man.. im addicted to 2 strokes, otherwise, would have gone for the FZ.Titus, wot about that planned G2G man? but i know.. most of the members r outside thesedays.. like Hari & Swaroop.. hmm

Oh no.. i heard a price of 1300/- rs for each of the inner tube. quote given by the Yamaha Dealer here.. i will settle with used ones for the time being.. he he

Im planning to put the SNS ones.. as they are meant for lighter bikes like platina & discover. Gladi shox look good.. but gladi is a heavier bike than the RX/Platina.

congrats arun for the 100 u got.
somehow 15.5 k for a 90 model i feel is costly. cos i got a 92 model recently for 13k(a decent one indeed)
regarding the front suspension, just recondition it and it will do good. and for rear stick to stock suspensions(escorts/gabriel) the reason being u have a yezdi tyre at the rear and the sns or other shocks will increase the height and the handling will be an issue. rear shocks of escorts will cost u 900/1000Rs .
and my advice regarding tyre is dump the yezdi for a 18" wheels. your top speed will fall and mileage will drop otherwise.

the changes you are looking at feels u want to have a motocross bike looks. instead of spending for cosmetics get the engine in top notch condition and start revving.

happy riding

Go for Endurance shocks and you won't regret. Congrats on acquiring a RX.
