Default Two stroke oil

Hi,

Which is the best 2T oil available at the moment and where can I get it? Castrol Jettx is very difficult to find these days. Hoping for some inputs on price, quality and locations. Thanks.

I use Motul 800 2T (Racing line) and it is available in Bangalore with the Motul dealer either in-stock or by special order. Costs around 650 rupees per liter. I've stocked up with 3 full crates (36 bottles) just in case they get too hard to find.

Did you get a discount for buying that many? What bike are you riding?

I have seen the Yamalube at the factory shop in Mumbai. Has anyone tried that?

Jet X Difficult to find? Thats the easiest to find oil here! I don't think its a very good oil (considering its premium price)... also it dosen't seem to burn too clean - gives out fair amount of visible smoke.

The best oil should be Motul's fully synth 2T. But its damn costly. Other good option should be Shell 2T - have heard good things about it. Also saw Gulf 2T very recently... might be good, considering their new 4 stroke oil is really good. Not tried it myself though.

What i do basically is mixing 600ml of motul 800 & 400ml of jetex or elf or shell works the best for me and lighter on pocket too, for highway runs and high speed blasts i would recommend this mixture.

For city shell advance (green can not the white) is pretty good and works out thad cheaper too. even elf is ok.

^^^I would never mix oils like that! Better let one thing do its job!

Shell makes more than one type of 2T oil?? I'v only seen the white bottle... and thats the only 1 mentioned on their website also.

Never seen Elf 2t anywhere... not even heard. Is it easily available in your city?

Yamalube 2T engine oil is made by Shell. The gear box oil is by Exxon Mobil.

Got Gulf 2T (semi synth) oil pouches for my father's Chetak... he it is better than Castrol he was using And each pouch was Rs 6 as against 8 or 9 for Castrol.

Some RX100 users have given good feedback on Yamalube and Petronas. Again, as usual, expect the Motul's to be very good
