Question Shogun Complete Rebuild - What to modify/What not to modify

Hi Guys ,

I am planning to rebuild my Shogun(2000 model) completely. Wanted to know from all you what kind of modifications can be carried out on the Shogun and what not to modify. Like I am planning to change the swingarm to a box type with wider tyres, fix a disc in the front, RX Carbs and maybe play around with the sprocket.

Any suggestions (cosmetic & technical)?

Regards,
Suresh

I would suggest, restore it to stock. If you can find the bits and pieces of a Fierro Disc setup, that is a feasible upgrade.

Hi Swingarm,

How about the pulsar disc setup? I dont think it really matters which bike it originally belongs to, right?. Also finding a fiero disc is another daunting task !

Swingarm, can you send the photos of the speedo which we discussed a few days back?

Suresh

Is the gladiator disc setup any different from the pulsar or fiero? How about the Apache 160RTR?

Shogun is already stressed motor its less CC and more bhp so no porting needed, all that shogun needs is a bigger carb say VM-24 or 26, a UNI filter
a nice custom made chamber, thats it you are ready to rule the roads.

You can fit the RTR disc set up, but you need a fiero hub
getting this is big pain

How about the swingarm. I heard a box type swingarm is more stable and you can fit a wider tyre with ease.
