And yeah 105km/hr top speed from a puny 50cc block is 'news' to me!!

So true. I have to agree with those lines a thousand of times.Couldnt have said better.

Even i have seen people raising their eyebrows when you say it's one of my favourite machines(smaller machines), Damn!!

Yes, I used to like that song.
You are right about the smaller engine bit. This is one hell of a vehicle-it looks very puny, but you'll be surprised that it can carry more loads than your&my bike put together&even climb slopes with it!

@karthik_R: I think some of the spares of the XL Super would fit in, the body parts especially. I miss my Kinetic Honda now, wish it were with me.

Thumbs up

Day 4 restoration update :

Today, I gave office the slip for a shopping spree.. List of spares purchased

>> Super XL heavy duty fork assembly, cone set, axle, U-clips, T-stem, plate
>> XL swing arm
>> Escorts rear shocks
>> #55 jet , reed valve, gasket kit etc
>> Front and rear rims, spokes.
>> Friction drive ("belt" as we know it)
>> Front and rear fenders (chrome baby!!)
>> Dunlop tubes for both front and rear
>> Rear tail lamp assembly
>> Fuel lines, fuel tap
>> Brakes cables, acc cable, clutch cable
>> consumables like new bolts, washers

And boy, shopping was sure fun. Had to stop only at one spares shop where I got almost everything listed. Now my house is almost a little garage with parts lying around everywhere, I had many "Ah here you are" moments, if you know what I mean

I have ordered for a digital caliper, thinking of making my own exhaust. The engine is still lying around somewhere in the house . My bro was helping me through out and this is turning out to be more of a house hold project, my dad who used to ride this bike 10 yrs ago was lending a helping hand too .

Here are a few pics of today's progress on the bike. I am putting together the bike, just want to make sure she's up and running before the paint job.

Hi guys,

I am in a bit of confusion now, so as to what to do with the bike. Do I restore the bike back to its glory or make it pump a bit more power and make it racy ?

Ever since I put the spare split handle bars, I've been in two minds...

What do you guys say?

If I were you, I'd port the shit outta it and pipe it with a big assed reed valve and scare the crap out of the big bikes.
Get a pair of good thin slicks if cash permits

Period

That is one hell of a feeling...one of happiest moments of life. Glad that you were able to express in words.

Atul spare this one man. She is a Barbie!

Hold on hold on. This cylinder is a little too radical to try the RX stunt by friend. Ofcourse there is another barrel which can go in and then it'll be fun. There are bikes which are pumping 11bhp from 65cc at chennai, clocking 105-110kph down the straight on the speedgun(thats as fast a 4-speed RX there) and running 22mm shaolin carbs .
They sound bad-ass!!!
