Default Bought a Machismo 500!

lol , now I know that I have got your attention I wanted to share with you all that finally after a very long time I have finally bought a Royal Enfield Bullet Machismo 500 .

I have always loved the thumper and wanted to buy one which I can use and cherish for years to come. The best thing (from what I have heard) about the bullet is that it’s a bike with whom you build a relationship. My bikes so far (caliber/p150/p220) have always been like “fill it shut it forget it” with timely servicing and intuitive part replacement. But they have failed to build a relation with me so far. Bullet , I believe possesses a very strong character and is a living bike. It will make you spend time on it rather than just being a commuting/weekend tool to de-stress yourself.

Last Friday 31st July , a thought crossed my mind that why don’t I just go and buy a bullet since the Ninja is no where near in sight and my focus shifting on much higher segments which would be worthy upgrades ,after some time. On Saturday , the search started with the std350 . Costing 84k , I would save on money , enjoy the classic feel of RE bullet and finally own a bullet. My friends (Nipun - machismo 350, Sandhu - RX-Z) kept advising me against it but I was hell bent on buying that model because the other ones , starting from electra (99k) , machismo 350 (1.06L) and 500LB (1.17) there is hardly any difference and I knew I would end up buying the 500 Machismo.

One of the dealerships is open on Sundays for 2 hours in the morning .I called them up and ask them to recommend which RE . As everyone would say it , the owner also recommended me the 500 , but there was a difference. He had a 500LB in stock and told me that he could give me a TD. So , I requested him to keep an Electra , Std 350 , Mach 500 for TD and a Mach 350 to show me the Alberto Green colour. After I TD the 500 , the 350 seems ‘all noise and no pick up‘ bikes. The 500 has amazing torque and pickup in first 3 gears. The 4th and 5th would be very useful on the highways . Coupled with a windshield and a split seat this would make a great touring RE. After discussing with my friend Sandhu about the disadvantages of 500 LB , both of us couldn’t come out with any of them. So decided on the Mach 500 (from now on a.k.a Mach V) , swiped the card , submitted the docs and it was done.

Now I am eagerly awaiting for the delivery. Hopefully it will be done by tomorrow.

P.S. The title speaks about Ninja because ‘for me’ , the Ninja is not coming

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

I have never really warmed upto the thumper (harrowing experiences on an Electra and the std). But i always believe its a bike your friend should have so that you can take it out for a spin once in a while
Congrats!! now i have a friend with the biggest thumper.

Don't worry, the Ninja will come. You will soon see one in your RVM and that would be me !!!
