Default Mumbai To Kolkata - Accompanying An Good Old Friend

Trip ODO - 2300 Kms
Riders -
Beruoist - Blue R15
BibekJyoti.de - Black P200

Intial Plan

Short and Sweet Triplog :

DAY 1 : MUMBAI TO HYD

Plan Planned, Bag packed, Spirits high, fully excited and all ready to roll. Started early on Friday morning by 4 am. Soon two of us we were hitting NH4 eating Km's.We did Mumbai to Pune Non-stop. Stopped in Magarpatta city for a much needed tea break.
Now we were running on NH9 for our first halting destination. Road condition was pretty bad with worst traffic as a add on. Bus drivers and Truck driver were driving quite pathetically. They were overtaking on the two lane ignoring the incoming Two-Wheelers. We had to go off from the road every now and then. In between we stopped at a canal to click some shots, Actually we followed an off-road going along the Canal (off from NH9) before we found a SHITYARD on our way, Uff !! that place was way too much smelly .
Some shots

Bibek baabu

After riding an hour and so we stopped for a Breakfast at a Dhaba...And there Bibek got a special call ...so after all rap up activities we started from where we stopped
So as I mentioned, There was nothing much to see in the NH9,so the only thing we did is ride, ride and ride.
But we still managed to find a picturistic Lake on our way.

Lake was so tempting and the weather was so hot ..that we thought thrice of taking few dips in the water. But to avoid the wastage of time, we convinced ourselves to move ahead. Reached Solapur and then finally Hyderabad at 7 Pm in the evening with couple of Tea breaks and a lunch break.
Plan was to reach Paradise Hotel (very famous and known landmark in HYD), meet my college chuddy buddy and stay at his place. But there was a lot of traffic jam along with some really scary driving expirience. Finally we made it to Paradise Hotel, where I met my friend and we went to his place. Booze session, with plenty of chicken and there we called End of the DAY.

To be CONTD......

So you start another thread. Good good.

When it comes to road sense Pune and Hyderabad are very close. Its difficult to choose between the two.

Day 2 - HYD

Day 2 was reserved for sight seeing in HYD.Salarjung Museum, Golconda Fort, Char minar etc etc.But Day 2 started with a bad note. Main headline in TOI "HYD BANDH BY TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samiti)".

My friend advised to drop the plan for Charminar (Old HYD city). So we started for Salarjung and Hussain Sagar Lake. My friend (Vaibhav) he was supposed to take us around all these place, which he himself was visiting for first time
So we were roaming in HYD roads, taking turns,U-turns asking for directions and sometime trapped in a sick mannered traffic. No respect and fear for Mamu's.Nobody following traffic rules.
After seeing this shitty condition of traffic in HYD,Respect for Mumbai traffic and condition got increased. (HYD peoples please don't mind, it’s just a personal opinion )

Finally we reached Salar Jung Museum, Entry fees was dirt cheap ( 10 rs per person as far as I remember). But we got disappointed when we came to know that Camera was not allowed inside. We got inside and roamed for 5-10 mins and we got pretty bored..Didn't even cover the first floor completely.

About Museum -

Quote:
The Salarjung Museum is the third largest museum in India housing the biggest one-man collections of antiques in the world. It is well known throughout India for its prized collections belonging to different civilizations dating back to the 1st century. Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III (1889-1949), former Prime Minister of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, spent a substantial amount of his income over thirty five years to make this priceless collection, his life's passion. The collections left behind in his ancestral palace, 'Diwan Deodi' were formerly exhibited there as a private museum which was inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru in 1951. Old timers believe that the present collection constitutes only half of the original art wealth collected by Salar Jung III. His employees siphoned off part of it, since Salar Jung was a bachelor and depended upon his staff to keep a vigil. Some more art pieces were lost or stolen during the shifting of the museum from Dewan Devdi to the present site. Later in 1968, the museum shifted to its present location at Afzalgunj and is administered by a Board of Trustees with the Governor of Andhra Pradesh as ex-officio chairperson under the Salar Jung Museum Act of 1961.
Some TP pics

Then we moved to nearby Hussain Sagar lake, Reminded me of Upper lake BHOPAL...

About Hussain sagar lake

Quote:
The Hussain Sagar Lake in Hyderabad is an enchanting lake and is the largest man-made Lake(Very Unclean one ) in Asia. It was built by Ibrahim Qutub Shah in 1562, on the tributary of the River Musi. Hyderabad and Secunderabad are the two cities that are connected to each other by the Hussain Sagar Lake. They are popularly known as twin cities.

The place where the Hussain Sagar Lake is located is called 'Tank Bund'. The Lake doubles up as an important landmark as well as picnic and recreation spot.

One thing that lured me at the Hussain Sagar Lake was the massive Buddha statue that stands majestically in the middle of this placid lake. The 16 meter tall, 350-tonne monolithic gigantic sculpture rises high from the calm waters of the scenic Hussain Sagar Lake. The statue is entirely made of white granite, finely sculpted and stands grandly on a wide dais amidst the glistening waters of the lake.

Some posing
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We were damn hungry after all the inefficient efforts we had put from the morning. So it was time for some Hyderabadi Biryani...
Went to Paradise hotel (Where we spotted a CBR600).. First floor all full..Second floor...All packed..Third floor - Huff,There we got some room for three of us.Ordered 2 Chicken Biryani's.I had to admit that, it was the yummiest, lovliest, tastiest Biryani I had in my entire life.Aur stomach was all packed, and everyone was getting sleepy. Me and Bibek said lets go to Golkunda fort. But Vaibhav suggested that hitting golkunda fort is a bad idea in the afternoon, how about a boat ride to the statue of Buddha, it a nice place which gives a feeling of immense peace.
Everyone agreed on that.
We went to some place on the Necklace road (Peoples plaza I guess).Did some time pass by clicking pictures, Having Jalebi and Some Go-Karting (electric car one).
Some Pics

I just love to click flowers- Just need the right lens

Took the Ferry to the statue

Some one is feeling very much sleepy

Finally

Me giving some SERIOUS photography tips

After coming back, we headed back to home and slept as we planned to leave in the evening for our further Journey....

More to COME !!!

Cheers
Biru
