Default Pure awesomeness @ Lansdowne

On 25th and 26th December 2010, I, Partha Sharma, and my 3 friends, Rishabh, Zishan and Udit visited Lansdowne and this is our story....

A couple of pics will have to do for now, I'll be back with the full log by tomorrow evening.

The Beginning.......

Ever since I went through Aryan sir's log of his trip to Lansdowne onboard his pulsar200, I was hooked to Lansdowne. I asked questions about the terrain, temperatures, accommodation from senior members who have been there and a plan was made. I and Rohit were to leave Delhi by 20th November, and return by 21st. Unfortunately, Rohit backed out due to some family problems and as I didn't want to go solo, the ride got postponed.

A whole month went by and while sipping tea at the xbhp dhaba one evening, Rishabh told me that he has planned a Lansdowne ride on 25-26 December and asked if I wanted to come. My ears stood up with the mention of Lansdowne and there was no other answer to his question apart from 'Hell Yeah'

We met up at 6 in the evening on 24th to discuss the ride. I got some maps printed off Google maps and we chose Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut-Mawana-Bijnor-Najibabad- Kotdwar-Lansdowne for the route. What seemed child's play navigating through virtual roads on the computer screen became an Everest task as you'll read later in the log. Rishabh asked me to meet him and Zeeshan at 5:00 in the morning on 25th. With the plan all set I came back home and packed my backpack, with the warmest clothing I could find. I packed 3 warm t-shirts and 1 leg warmer, also 2 pair of socks just in case the one's I'd be wearing got wet, alongwith the documents of the bike and a first aid kit. It was around 2:30 in the night and I had just 2 hours to sleep before I had to get up. I thought about staying up the night but then rejected the Idea and went under the sheets.

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back;
and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.
