Prologue

It is a long weekend(13th - 15th August) a gift for Tourers, this was in back of my mind from a long long time and I have planned to do a 4day ride to somewhere or anywhere. Discussed this with the Official Explorer of Hyd xBhp (ravi@17bhp) he pointed me towards pabi.. a veteran tourer who had similar plans so contacted him and agreed to follow him anywhere he leads me. We met on a week before the ride and finalised on the plan and familiarised with each other over a breakfast...

The Actual Plan

DAY 1: HYDERABAD>ANATAPUR 360kms
DAY 2: ANATAPUR>HASSAN>BELURU&HALEBEEDU>CHIKMAGALURU 370kms
DAY 3: CHIKMAGALURU>KUDEREMUKH>CHIKMAGALURU 250kms
DAY 4: CHIKMAGALURU>MULAYANGIRI>KEMMANAGUNDI>SHIMOGA>HARI HAR ~300kms
DAY 5: HARIHAR>HOSPETA>RAICHUR>HYDERABAD 530KMS

Preperations & Last day Updates

As for any tour requires we made all the arrangments bike service & tools, maps blah blah blah.....
Luckily we have 2 more member joining in the ride Vishnu(already Leh'ed) & Siva(non-xbhpian).

Finally The Riders & Steeds:
Vishnu (The Expert) xBhp id: vishnuu x = RTR160
Pavan (The Financier) xBhp id: pabi.. x = ZMA-R 1/2
Rakesh (The 1st Timer) xBhp id: rakesh_zmr x = ZMR

The Tour

DAY 1:

As per the Plan we are to meet on the city outskirts by 5.30pm in the evening and reach Anatapur which is 360kms away before 10.30pm as the ride is on NH7, we thought the target is a piece of Cake. As vishnu has to take care of last minute work at office he asked us to proceed as per the plan and he will be catching up with us in an hour or two. So Me, Pavan along with Siva started around 5.40pm from the meetpoint and cruised along the highway @ relatively slow speeds for such a good road. We had our 1st stop @ a dhaba exactly 100kms away from the city and this is where pavan revelead the secret behind the speeds after a chai(tea) @ this dhaba they switch on the touring mode on every ride. We had sent a text to vishnu updating our location and also vishnu did the same. After the mode switch the speeds went up to 100kays. This time Siva is riding Pavan sitting as a pillion got bored and started cliking pictures without deviating Me or Siva though.

Meanwhile we reached outskirts of Kurnool some 200kms away from our start point it is getting dark, it started to rain and the crosswinds are bombastic, (atleast to my ZMR) so we took shelter in a filling station & where as experienced by anyother tourer in our forum we got strange alien kind stares, once again we updated our location to vishnu, to my surprise he is only 30kms behind us and he joined us within 15mins. so once again we started the ride (which I realised later in the tour is a very short distance~remember I am a 1st timer). As Vishnu joined us we have used bungee cords to tie up the backpacks to the bike with his help. And as I am about to say dinner Vishnu & Pavan told let us start and reach Anatapur as early as possbile and so we did start once Vishnu joined us the ride felt more exciting atleast to me. Vishnu leading & Me sweeping without further breaks & rain we reached Anathapur somewhere as per the plan. Here we booked a hotel room then went to a dhaba for dinner (I am starving at this point) and like a gourmet ate anything placed before me in a jiffy finally we finshed dinner to my satisfaction went to the room which turned ice cold by the timer we are back. We discussed for sometime on the route to take for the next day and slept. Me with a tinge of excitment.
