Default Augmented Journey for a Personality - 2013

    Hi Bikers,

Its my pleasure to say 'Hi' again. Regard to the Journey I did last year and the same I gonna do this year 2013 for Social cause.

To know about last year Journey - AJP 2012

This year 2013 I have a plan to start my ride in the last week of September, the route plans and other details will be shared very soon.

As a Overview, this time no. of days would be 10, total journey distance would be not less than 2000 kms and I gonna visit 13 colleges to promote Safe Biking and Personality Development training session.

Before that, It is time to say how and why I started “Augmented Journey for a Personality”.

This journey started when I graduated with my B.Sc. Computer Science degree in 2008. I began to see the competitive world of IT Industry and I couldn’t get a job from any of the companies. I realized that I was not competitive or qualified enough and didn't have the personality to project myself. So, I decided to do a master degree (MBA-HR), where my learning phase started. I groomed my abilities in the two years and was placed as a HR Executive in the Recruitment Team at HCL technologies. Since then I've given offer letters to more than 500 fresh graduates during 2010 - 2011.

A person, who was not eligible for a job in 2008, became a HR Executive for one of the top IT companies in India and offered jobs for more than 500 students. If I can improve myself in two years then, students who are all doing 3 or a 4 years degree can develop themselves much better by getting a little guidance from professors, subject matter experts, lecturers and friends.

I cannot put things right by myself and I am not that perfect. But, I have witnessed CHANGE and I am trying to bring the same CHANGE in all the upcoming fresh and young human resources of this world (students) whoever is eager to learn and achieve in their life.

By adopting “CHANGE in the Personality” as my motto, whenever I go for campus recruitment to various cities, states and colleges I always try to do a personality development session before starting an interview. But I cannot go for campus recruitment to all the colleges in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, I had a job change to MphasiS, an HP Company from HCL. I am no more in recruitment team but I still associate myself with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Employee Engagement Team (EET) of MphasiS, an HP Company and begun visiting various colleges for the same motto.

Adding to that, my Passion & hobby towards biking and photography helped me to do a full-fledged journey for 10 consecutive days to all 32 districts of Tamil Nadu in the year 2012 from August 2nd to 12th. During this journey I went to 18 colleges for personality development training programs and also to create awareness on safe biking by asking the students to wear helmet while riding their motorbike.

Continuing the journey for this year 2013 and my journey never ends…

That's quite a great initiative. How's the response from the college youth? I mean how do they react to words like safety on bike or like that?

    Hi,
@lockhrt999: First of all many students will not have Motorbike. Though I go with different approach, like at the first I will ask about their percentage of love on their Father & Family. Everyone will say 100%. and I will ask like "Is your father wearing Helmet while Riding?" Students who raised their hands for 100% love will go down almost to 10%

    and then I will ask

"If you have 100% love on your father and family then what is your percentage level of safety measures on them?"
"From heart, How many of you asked your Father, Uncle, Brother or Sister to wear Helmet while riding bike?"
"If you say you have Love and you are very concern about your family safety then its your duty to ask then wear Helmet."

And the above approach worked and many students asked their father, brothers and friends to wear Helmet.

@tdjbiking - If you've time, try a different route from Kanyakumari to Pollachi. Something like this...

    Kanyakumari - Kalakkad - Pathamadai - Cheranmahadevi - Kallidakurichi - Ambasamudram - Courtallam - Tenkasi - Ariyankavu - Thenmala - Punalur - Pathanamthitta - Mundakayam - Kattapana - Nedumkanam - Pupara - Munnar - Udumalaipettai - Pollachi

You should really have strong will power not to stop for photography enroute

@aargee, Yes, It will be a wonderful route to cover. Me with friends have an another plan to cover full Kerala. That time sure will cover this route sir. Now mainly I planned according to the college schedule.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

On 28th Sep: 5:00 PM evening I have started the journey towards Salem and the destination for the Day 1 was Chidambaram. Till Attur it was a pleasant ride on the highway then a diversion after Attur to Chidambaram was a two lane road and the road condition was pathetic. The worst part is Night ride. Due to opposite vehicle’s high beam, many patches and route is new to me so it made me NOT to go beyond 50 kmph for almost 100 kms. From Attur by connecting Virudhachellam with the total of 120 kms was a bitter experience on the first day itself. The road was Dark, too many patches, on the way many villages people were crossing the road without seeing the two sides of the road and super XL riders won’t consider the “Stop-Observe-Go” practice at all while crossing the road adding to that dust. In another opposite words “Awesome” it was. Actually started at 4 pm from Krishnagiri, we (Me, Dr.Sir and friends Stephen, Ashok, Praveen, Sunder brother) gathered at Krishnagiri HP petrol bunk for a short ride. Dr.Sir, Stephen, Ashok had given an accompanying ride till Dharmapuri. After having some chats talk at Ananda Bhavan, Dharmapuri Dr. Sir and friends went back to Krishnagiri. From 5 pm to 10:15 pm. It was nonstop ride without any break (No water, No piss, No pit stop) and the consequence was – my butt got burned. Yes, really my butt got burned little bit.

Brothers, never ever take Attur - Virudhachellam route to reach Chidambaram. But there is no other go. In that case, we have to do only day ride and avoid night ride. Due to night ride I couldn’t enjoy the road side scenarios, photography and also pit stops. Night ride is ok if we had already traveled in that route during day time. I have reached the destination at 10:00 pm.

On 29th Sep: Usual get up, brush up, getting ready, breakfast, bike check and what else checking to route to visit the touring places in and around Chidambaram.

First: Thillai Natarajah Temple, Chidambaram "Chidambaram Thillai Natarajar-Koothan Kovil or Chidambaram temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in the town of Chidambaram, East-Central Tamil Nadu. The temple is known as the foremost of all temples (Kovil) to Salivates and has influenced worship, architecture, sculpture and performance art for over two millennium. The temple is referred to in all devotional literature as Bhooloka Kailasam, or Kailasam, The Lord Shiva's abode that manifests on earth. The Sangam classics list chief architect Viduvelvidugu Perumtaccan as directing an early renovation of the shrine”.

Second: Pichavaram "Pichavaram is located near Chidambaram in Cuddalore District, Tamil Nadu. Pichavaram (Mad Boon) has a well-developed mangrove forest. Pichavaram consists of a number of islands interspersing a vast expanse of water covered with green trees. The area is about 1100 Hectare and is separated from the sea by a sand bar. The Pichavaram mangrove biotope, consisting of rare species like Avicennia and Rhizophara presents a special attraction, with its peculiar topography and environmental condition. It supports the existence of many rare varieties of economically important shell and fin-fishes.
The Pichavaram mangroves attract an appreciable bird population of residents, local migrants and true migrants. Amongst others, one can view birds like Water snips, Cormorants, Egrets, Storks, Herons, Spoonbills and Pelicans. At the mangroves, so far, 177 species of birds belonging to 15 orders and 41 families have been recorded. The season for birds is from September to April every year."

After the local touring after 3 pm went back to the hotel to pack the luggage and started the journey to the next destination Perambalur.

Thanks to Dr.Sir, Stephen, Ashok for giving an accompanying ride till Dharmapuri in AJP ride 2013

In chithambram Natarajar temple, a magnificent place to visit.
5 temple considered as 5 sense.
Kaalakasthi for AIR, Kanchipuram for LAND, Thiruvannamalai for LIGHT, Thiruvagaikaval for WATER and Chidambram for SKY.

In Mangrove forest, Pichavaram. It was a nice boat ride experience inside the mangrove forest. Another place must to visit again...

"Light brings the Bright", not only on the road but to the Mind.

While crossing Pannadam railway gate, on the way from Chidambaram to Perambalur, reached safely.

Ride... Ride... Ride… and it became full night ride. Yes, since I have started the first day ride at evening and continued till night my entire ride, the corresponding rides of the day fallen at during Night. You know, night ride is such a pleasant feel which we won’t get it in the day time. The silence, dark and the light from the distance are more excitement than day ride. It will slow down the speed due to less light on the road and unanticipated turns, curves and road condition. But it was a great experience of riding for continues 8 day during night.

Based on the schedule of the ride, 50% of the day I was in the colleges to take presentation and that have taken almost all my energy. I have taken 2 hours presentation, conducting survey and that never ends if students’ start asking questions. After completing the session I will seek for a bed to take rest and obviously the alarm time schedule which had already been planned will hit me to plan for nest destination and my planning will get start. I have planned this time to go with formal dress rather than t-shirt so changing up the dress and packing up the thinks every day is little pain but managed well because after pack up it going to be a RIDE for at least 150 kms in a day.
