Hi All,
I plan to do a Skiing trip to himachal in the 2nd week of november. Few places i've heard where skiing is possible in november are like solang, Gulaba, Marhi. Any other places please suggest? Also, any idea how much does it cost to hire a SUV without a driver in manali or shimla?? Bunnypunia, LoveMax any suggestions?? |

Ranbanka.. Dude would love to help you but I would say 2nd week of november might be too early. Rather planning it in march or April would be a best bet. Snow in November is bit tough to confirm as it starts to fall down only in late november or december.
Rather I would advice you to travel to Chail. As it has a skiing resort which becomes active in december. Though with cost factor about SUV it is quite expensive but without driver is very hard to find. I would say driving to Shimla and then travelling to chail is best option in december. Manali is not quite a viable option due to distance and unsure weather conditions. Happy Skiing..

Ranbanka - just be careful as the new snow is not stable and go along with group - chances of snow coming down in form of avalanche is pretty normal. the snow is not stable at these places. Go carefully and have fun.
You will find snow at higher altitudes only as bunny confirmed it to you. And Chances of getting a SUV without a driver is NIL.. Got it checked. Have a nice journey Bro.

You can hire a TATA Safari 4x4 without driver in Delhi, but deposit is 30k. I am not sure if the person taking deposit will be honest enough to pay you the money back. The operator is at Barakhamba road.

Ranbanka good news on the way- I heard from one of my freinds in himachal that they had a snowfall yesterday and it was first time in the history that they had snowfall at this period of teh year.
So cheers - you will be welcomed by snow.. Check out Chail for sure now and enjoy skiing pleasure.
