Default Mangalore - An essential respite & fish-eye views (well, mostly!)

    #chaosaddictchronicles

Yo, happy new year fellas! You can TLDR the below post and skip to the steak, i.e. if you think that's a juicy steak.

While our true blue wanderers and globetrotters are busy gobbling miles and reaching faraway lands, I decided to gobble pegs of whisky in a nearby destination called Mangaluru. Well, you might argue but the significance of consuming liquor is pivotal to happiness, especially when it's new year's eve, and:
    1. when you're tired of corporate bullcrap
    2. when the concrete jungle nauseates you for the longest time
    3. when you've lost every race with every other urban rat there is, and....
    4. when you get the most critical permission of riding till your destination from your better half; I mean you may wanna make more out of it but this setup wasn't really unexciting for me in anyway.
    5. also, when your significant half understands the significance and allows two days of permit to binge *if you know what I mean*

So, there it is. I celebrated my year end with couple of my friends in the beautiful city of Mangalore. And in the process we also covered Bekal, Kasargod, Kerala and Malpe in Udupi, Karnataka. And, by all means the city is beautiful, I must reiterate. Some of you may feel that it's just another journal entry to the unending list of Managalore logs but as a first timer, I will grab the chance to praise the beauty of the region in the most deserving manner. Pretty darn straight!

Amidst all the procrastination & excitement in the past few days of this new year, and now that I have finally started the story, let's do away with all the customary checklist -

    routes (I think) -
    blr-kunigal-hassan-sakleshpur-puttur-mangaluru (375 kms, I guess )
    mangaluru-bekal (~67 km, one way)
    mangaluru-malpe-panambur-tannirbhavi (I don't know, maybe 140 overall)
return - refer to the first route in reverse order

place of stay - Hotel Emporium, KRR road, Mangalore

It's nothing colossal in here, but since many of you are already reading this thread and looking for a story, I ought to pen my thoughts down.

    Pre-ride melodrama!
I have been wanting to ride since a long time, I can't really trace back but it's been a long freakin' time. In fact, last ride was with the Bangalore folks to saklespur. Besides, I have shifted to a place close to my workplace and that has reduced my daily commute to less than 5 km; say what! So there you go - case in point, one of the machines in the brotherhood clocked 7000 kms in a month or so and I realized that I struggled to clock 1500 in more than 8-9 months just to get to the next official service in an official service station. Reality check man!

Life is difficult *oh boy, here we go again*

Now that was the philosophy cliche; ignore it. This ride was an opportunity to grab my biker self and slap it out of the closet. The destiny didn't matter as long as I was allowed to use my bike to reach there. It was about time, I was at the tipping point of tolerance and the concrete monotony would have butchered me alive if I continued break-free. 2017 is a crucial year and I am looking forward to it. Booze aside, I didn't want to be negative while entering this year. I am an atheist but the critical point is on describing targets, numbers and goals, right?! - this was to justify the temperament of my persona . 100% authentic though.

Cool, lets get to the 'not so boring' part.
Disclaimer: The 'not so boring' part is comprised of 'not so good' captures. The equipment used were GoPro Hero 4 Silver & iPhone 4S & 6S. Bear at your own risk mate, you've been warned!

As I was saying, who would look at a Mangalore; it's just 300 odd kms right?! I mean, I would like a proper 600 odd to fulfill my desires but this wasn't really an endurance or a solo feat. I had to make sure that my beloved pillion enjoys the whole trip while I satiate my selfish needs. I was also aware that the ghats throughout sakleshpura till Mangaluru wasn't going to be easy with a pillion.

This trip also made a tremendous impact on my dogma of approach towards various things in life *wow, that's deep* Anywho, I feel that this could just be the beginning.

    The moment of truth

Beautiful, simplified, fluid narrative. You ought to write a little everyday. Who knows, you might turn up a novelist.

Bonus cheers to the fisheyes! Ride safe
