Default A Malabarian Sojourn - Wroom Couple goes on for 6 days Dosa and Coffee ride!

    Prologue – “A Malbarian Sojourn”

Day 1 – Mumbai – Chitradurga – “Tragedy in the Blood”

    Day 2 – Chitradurga - Coorg – “ Riding the twisties “

    Day 3 – Coorg – Waynard – “Greeny Vibes”

Day 4 – Waynad - Ooty – “Secret of Garden tea”

Day 5 – Ooty - Kolhapur – “Everything is an Experiment”

Day 6 – Kolhapur – Mumbai – “Life is colourful”
When we came back from our north east ride, we decided that now at least for few months we shouldn’t go anywhere and save some money for our future because we have been spending a lot and travelling to lot many places since last few months and hence we continued with our regular life going to office, working 10 hours to earn some money, daily house hold work, getting groceries, vegetables, fruits and when in office we got tired working, all the good and happy thoughts of North east ride used to encircle our mind which helped us to freshen up and get those lovely smile on our faces and then we are back energized to work hard so that we can ride harder..

2 weeks later from our North east ride. Our conversation went something like this:-

Sachin:- “Its almost 2 weeks now that we have come back from our NE ride”

Kiran:- “Ya, thank god everything went well except that “Tukvar Garden offroad thing” I hate you for that”.

Sachin:- “Actually I think we should plan an another ride”

Kiran :- <Shocked> What! What! What! Come again?

    Sachin :- <Laughing…>

Kiran:- “You only told during our NE ride that we should go into saving mode now and that we are so tired after 14 days ride that at least we need a break from riding for 2 months and now it not even 2 weeks and……..anyways WHERE NEXT?

    Sachin
    :- <rofl> <rofl>

ADDICTION || OBSESSION || COMPULSION || whatever you call it? We only knew that this is what we love doing and this is what we are going to do for our gratification. Some feel pleasure in dancing, singing, Music...FOR US IT WAS, IS and Will be RIDING...

The addiction of good is very rare isn’t it? It is like a beetle that bites you hard, and it leaves you in an agony, which has no cure and to heal that pain you have to regularly take medication to mend that pain.

The bug here is “Riding”, and the pain is not riding your bike and having Humdrum life, and the medication to mend your pain is “KEEP RIDING”
For those who don’t know about us – we are an IT professionals and………………”THE RIDERS”

    *****************
We planned a GOA ride for 4 days in January, we rode for 1400 kms, enjoyed beaches, goan food but still we felt that something is missing…

Frankly we are not breakfast ride types <no offence to anybody> but we are just not 200 or 250 kms types, 2 days or 4 days ride doesn’t satisfy us, but only because we have to work for our living we console our soul with smaller rides and that is what we did while riding to Goa

While our return journey from Goa to Mumbai we were talking on Bluetooth Intercom that this ride didn’t felt so satisfying and that we rode less and it was like a leisure kind of ride..lets plan something satiating.

We also realized that we are not “Saving for Future” kind of people. I am not saying you shouldn’t save but Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present and currently we were happy traveling, riding, being free, roads, highways and we don’t know what our future would be like. Let us travel while we are young and able and we decided that whenever we feel to twist our throttle we will not deny each other instead we would happily accompany each other and go miles and miles TOGETHER.

We just wanted to concentrate our mind on the present moment, We want to enjoy every minute of our life, we want to be happy now, we don’t want to wait for future to make us happy, It’s not about postponing your happiness for future, it’s really not about that…and so we started planning our another ride….

Since we did lot of North in 2015 and 2016 we thought to explore South and here is how we started planning to ride on sexy curves of South Boulevard.

We came back from our Goa ride and started with our favorite thing “Planning phase” We love PLANNING, because a goal without plan is just a wish, Always always have a plan, its ok if it doesn’t go according to your plan because you are on 2 wheels but again it’s always good to be on safer side and plan.

So our planning phase started and we planned to hit the western Ghats of south after a month that is in March during Holi time, where we have to take less leaves because of long weekend.

Since I was a kid I never played Holi, I always used to say my friends that Holi is festival of eating and this is also one reason why I wanted to escape from Mumbai and get lost in some corners of south where there is no hungama related to Holi, in fact I have also heard that South people are not so much into Holi celebration, they like celebrating Ganesha festival more.

So it was 1st week of February when I applied 3 days leaves starting from 8th March till 10th March. My manager saw me in such a manner that I asked for both his kidneys, he called me in a meeting room and requested me to postpone my leaves since 2nd week of march was crucial for our project because it was GO LIVE time.
Somehow I requested and pleased him saying that I would work for 12 hours even on Saturday and Sunday but he will have to approve the leaves and so without any further arguments he agreed with the same. <To get something, you have to loose something > In Sachin’s office Nobody questioned him for his leaves but it was that silent conversation between him and his client that complete your deliverable and you are a free bird and so he worked for 14 hours a day to get 3 days of leaves.

And this is how we had 6 days to ride on those dream roads of Coorg, Waynard and Ooty. Now we started our full-fledged route planning and the stuffs we gotta buy for this ride. <We loveeeeee gear shopping>

By Feb mid we finalized our route and things we need to buy, since NE ride we were searching for textile riding jacket for me which we did not get unfortunately, so we thought to hunt again for the same.

Our riding shoes which we were using since 2015 Ladakh time was completely worn out for which we thought to stitch it and use it back again. When I bought my SOL helmet they did not had medium size helmet i.e 56-57 so they changed the inner cushion and gave me something which was JUGAAD <I cannot find English word for Jugaad !! APOLOGIES >kind of helmet for me, so for this ride we decided to take MT helmet for me which Sachin was already using.

One Saturday we both were working from home when we got a mail from xBhp about a riding gear company interested in co-sponsoring us for our upcoming ride. Sachin saw the mail 1st because I was too much engrossed in my work and when he told me about the mail I was like “Stop kidding please I am on skype with my manager” and then he came walking towards me and flashed the mail in front of my eyes. I immediately dropped the call and was stunned for a minute or 2, I was blank, I was happy, I was excited, I was……

I called my manager back and gave a reason of bad network for abruptly disconnecting a call and discussed the further work. Surprisingly I agreed to everything he asked me to complete for a day without any arguments. At that moment I was too happy to argue with him on anything which was not so important for me <that’s a different story that I worked till 2.00 am in the morning that day >

Sachin and I discussed further about the mail we received and reverted back on the xBhp mail ASAP. Just a week ago from our ride date we received all the goodies from SpartanProGears and MTHelmetsIndia- For me I got MT Blade helmet, RYO Raptor III Riding Shoes, Aspida Venus Riding Jacket and Aspida ARES gloves and for Sachin we got Aspida Odysseus Air Riding Jacket and RYO Raptor III Riding shoes because he was already using Aspida riding pant , MT helmet and Aspida Gloves.
We were happy and excited that we were been sponsored by such a company which we already admire the so much, in fact Sachin already had so many stuffs of the same company which he bought initially.

When Mumma & Papa heard about the news they were very happy about hearing everything that finally we are getting the recognition from such a big brand.

When I was a kid I was very mischievous and last bencher kind a student. I cannot say how I passed all my academics. Mamma was always worried about my future and what will I do going forward. But now when she sees me working in a big IT company and riding a motorcycle she lifts her head with full Attitude

She always gets worried whenever we say her that we are planning a ride. She will always ask “whom you guys are going with? and we answer her in a very low voice Saying “NOBODY” Just both of us..

And then her award winning Questions “what if anything wrong happens? who will be there to help you guys? Try taking all the safety measures and what not, but I love her and appreciate that she never said me “NO” for riding. There are very less parents in India who allows a female child to do something which is so risky and uncertain. Y

Yes Riding a motorcycle is risky so is travelling by Car or walking on the road, but what to do we LOVE this risky thing and now we are so much engrossed in it that thinking our life without motorcycle is………….”WHY EVEN I am THINKING OF IT?

Being told you that you are appreciated is one of the simplest, yet most incredible things you can ever hear and we thank you xBhp and SpartanProGears for such a wonderful opportunity.

More of our ride stories coming soon ..Stay glued

    Awesome..

Once I have donned my black helmet, I become anonymous. My face ceases to identify me. My black visor shields others from the rigours of my passing glance while shielding me from their attempts to peer into my soul. I am an anonymous rider shrouded in black. I am no longer a specific self. I am a passing Traveller.

True that. There is another rider from Mumbai @rac_devil, whom I'm gonna join this weekend. He's exploring southern hills.
