The clouds moved in by late afternoon. I looked out of the window, wondering how to spend the rest of the day: go out for a walk or laze around. Undecided, we strolled out of the room. A draft of crisp, cool wind greeted us. While the other guests at the GMVN tourist guest house were busy in soaking in the atmosphere, sipping tea, reading books or chatting, we decided to walk down the road (hand in hand..
) exploring the beautiful place that Lansdowne is. Yes, the past weekend has been tremendous. Lansdowne was the destination and the P-200 was the 'tool'. Nothing much to write except which has probably been said a 100 times already about any hill-station devoid of traffic and the 'regular' tourists. Lovely place, lovely weather; no traffic, no tourist - what else does one need! Who on this earth could guess that just 250 odd kilometres away from one of the hottest places in India (Delhi), lies a bloody hill station that sees 15 degree celsius in the month of August-September (it was cooler during this time though.. ).As far as the logistics of this trip goes, I was a little amused to see the P-200 do the whole round trip with just about 7 litres of petrol. Either the petrol pump's readings were abrupt or I have been day-dreaming, either way I have to confess the petrol expenses during this 500kms.+ round trip has been almost next to nil! ![]() The performance of the P-200 has been phenomenal. With the run-in of the mill just complete, and the excitement of this ride on the mind and heart; cruising on the Delhi-Meerut highway at 85 km/hr. early in the morning (going to about 127km/hr. a couple of times.. ) was an absolutely marvelous experience. The machine remained as composed as a 200cc machine should be. Once the mountains started (not to mention the curves/ corners), the P-200 went berserk. It definitely is a superior handler than the Classic 180 for sure.Last time I went to Lansdowne, I was riding the Classic; taking the corners at about 50km/hr. made the Classic a little twitchy at times, but the P-200 took those same corners at about 60+km.hr with aplomb. But, my pillion did not! So, I slowed down a little and started enjoying the vistas, rather..![]() Following was the route taken: Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut-Bijnor-Najibabad-Kotdwar-Duggada-Lansdowne Anyways, enough of talking already; here are some pictures to go down with this pathetic write-up..For all the guys (and girls) who are looking for some good, quiet place very close to Delhi, Lansdowne is the place to be! ![]() Thanks, -Aryan. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

As far as network connectivity goes, if you have a BSNL connection, you are good to go; else you are stuck with the "Searching network" message.. Internet connectivity, I am not sure whether it is there or not (I doubt)..
