Default Trip to Valparai

trip-valparai-p1010171.jpg

Hi all ,

Just did a small trip to Valpari along with two other Stringers . Must be wondering how come traveling with stringers . Well i was planing to go to some place near Coimbatore for a one day ride , the planing is been happening from some time . Last time i did a trip to Ooty from Coimbatore & it turned out to be a solo ride as no one to ride along . This time i tried to think out of the box . Searched in xBhp members list and found few people near my home town and i messaged them . Out of three people one replied and we started chatting and making calls to each other . I am from Coimbatore & he is from Pollachi which is 45 Km from Coimbatore . We where thinking of a trip as he also was interested . On Saturday got a message asking me if i would like to join for a small ride . " Yes" with out any second thoughts i jumped in . We planed a small trip to Valpari as i had to return home by evening . Well remember folks i have never seen this person before . ( Details of the stringers will be furnished in between Trip log )

Coimbatore - Pollachi -Valparai - Sholaiyar Dam - Pollachi - Coimbatore-270 Km

On Sunday morning (16th) i started by 5:20 am . Had my bath & other worldly stuff as usual . Took my camera and packed other necessary stuff as my RC book & papers in a small bag . Left home by around 5:40 am . Should say bit late from what was planned as a lazy bum i woke up late again . Was exited as usual , but this time the excitement was doubled as i was going to meet a stranger who himself was an xBhpian . That was a good feeling . Well i reached Pollachi by 6:30 am . Was looking around the location where he had asked me to wait . Called him and informed that i am there . With in five minutes there he was ..

Keerthy( Thy as known in xBhp ) a graphic designer by profession .Rides an R15 blue

About Thy : Friendly , calm , active , loves to ride & photography . Almost all the qualities that we bikers should have i found in him . It did not take much time for me to build a good wavelength with Thy . Was nice to know another xBhpian that to like minded . He was mentioning that he is also a lazy bum and got up late . Was really happy hearing that as we matched in almost all the characters .

We started together & was amazed by his driving style . I really saw me 10 years before in him . The way he was doing the bends and cutting through vehicles . Gosh i was so dam happy see some one ride like that as i always used to rip the same way except for past few years that i have become a calm rider .(Lol) . Only problem i faced was to catch up with him as my sweet Honda Unicorn was not that fast enough . Pour Thy had to slow down & at times wait for me to catch up with him . Nice bike he has and amazing performance .

Next stop point was AMBARAM PALAYAM . Situated around 10 Km in pollachi . There is this lake which is features in most of the Tamil film songs Where you can see all the dancers and hero heroin walking and dancing in water . The water flow's in steps allowing one to walk through those steps and enjoy the fauna of flowing water through their legs .

We met Vignesh : A good friend of Keerthy & a graphic designer . Vignesh is working in Chennai and was back home for the week end . He owns a RTR . But unfortunately it was given for service . He joined with Keerty . He is not yet an xBhpian but can expect him soon there . A very nice chap Friendly as keerthy.

The time was around 7:30 am odd and we started slowly to Valparai . On the way vignesh got some cut Mango's with chilly powder to eat . The actual journey started . We had to pay entrance fee for 3 people and for 2 cameras ( 95 total ) at the check post . The road started to wind and should say the hairpin curves are steep & had to concentrate more on my bending skills than enjoying the view . Was amazed to see the R 15 climbing with ease , that too carrying 2 people . Keerthy was a stunning rider . I was watching him corner each bend with ease as if he was riding on a plane road . Vignesh on the other had is not behind in riding skills at all as i had a chance to see him ride for some distance . Was really happy to accompany good riders . We stopped in few places and took some snaps

We reached the Waterfalls Tea estates . A nice joint where one can relax and have a cup of tea . They have these tiny huts embarked by Tea plantations . Nice place for an evening hang out should say . Had chai . Nice taste . Fresh

Aliyar Dam :- is on the way to valparai and sad to see not much water on the dam .Nothing much to talk about . One should see for them self .

We reached Valparai town by around 10 : 15 . One thing i noticed that we took more time climbing those hairpin bends than usual hair pins ( around 50 odd Hairpins to reach Valparai from AMBARAM PALAYAM).

We all where hungry . There is no much choice to have food according to Keethy as he is a regular visitor . He took me to a small Mess behind the town bus stop . Had some Dosa & Egg ambulate . Nice filling . Did not look for the taste as we all where hungry & was not in a mood to judge the tase . Not bad though .

We started riding again towards Sholaiyar Dam (around 30 Km from Valparai ). A nice place , provided very less water at present . The road to Sholaiyar has some good scenery . All surrounded by green tea gardens . It was around 1:00 pm when we reached & trust me dam hot .

Took some snaps and moved back to Valparai on the same route . It was around 2:30 Pm & we stopped in a KR bakes and refreshed our self's with some lime juse and some Puffs . Good filling . The journey back was on the same route which we climbed . Stopped in the same Waterfalls Tea joint and had some chai . Brought some tea packet for mum . Time was around 3: 15 Pm . Reached Ambaram palayam by 4:20Pm and dropped Vignesh .

Went to Keerthi's home and got a nice welcome from his mother & father . Sorry forgot to mention his companion ( man's best friend - Dog ) Felt good . He transferred all the pictures to his comp . Accompanied me back till the main road . I started back home and reached Coimbatore by 6:30 Pm .

The End of trip

Thank You for xBhp again for i found some good riders and cant call him a stringer any more as he has become a friend of mine . We hope to make more trips together & are planing for an xBhp G2G in Coimbatore . Hope things work out smooth .

Sorry to bug you all with such a long story . Please don't curse me , Just a humble person who likes to share his happiness with others .
