Certainly, it had been a journey of a lifetime, both for me and my motorcycle. I had been planning it for quite a long time and after a long list of if's and but's I am back home after the successful trip
.To start with, here is Rohtang pass

Topic Approved.
Amazing stuff biker_boy! I don't think an R15 has done Leh before. I still remember, when we met (while me and DCS were coming back from Spiti), you were telling us that you really wanted to take your R15 to Leh, and here it is! Really great stuff. Now, waiting eagerly for the day-by-day log and the pictures. Also do mention how the R15 behaved during this whole trip, and if you did face any problems with the machine (especially with that terribly low ground clearance). Once again, kudos to you - for both doing Leh, and more so on an R15!

Finally an R15 gets Leh'ied!!!!
Had always thot how the bike would handle it, and now ur log might just prove the same. If only the Japs look at this, they will know how sturdy their product manufacturing is!!!![]() P.S: Hopefully u faced no issues during and after the trip

Thanks guys, I must say this trip had been possible because of you guys. I really appreciate for the encouragement and support. At one time I was planning to take the trip in a Scorpio.
The Choice: To begin with, I had bought a RE Thunderbird long back to do Leh and then I got the R15. Now I had two options, either to take the Thunderbird or the R15. The RE has already proved itself and is one of the best bikes to do Leh, but I felt like taking my R15, and finally I did. Ground clearance: I am haapy that I could complete this trip without a fall, although couple of times it was very near to one but I in the end I could manage it. Finally regarding the ground clearance issue, I managed to do the entire trip without even a scratch to the bottom fairing. The Performance: As from day one, I am always amazed with the performace of this machine. No issues what so ever, the bike came to life with just a push of the thumb in all conditions. The real test being at Pang, where the temperature had fallen sub zero and Oxygen level had reduced to 9% from 21%. However, there was some loss in power due to the reduced oxygen levels. No knocking or whatever, the engine had the same rhythm as it has here in Chandigarh. A twist of the throttle and I was clocking 110kmph upwards of pang at around 16000feet. Problems Faced: The only problem I faced was that two of the front fairing bolts got a bit loosened. The rest of the log and pics shall follow soon - Amit
