  • At Land's End. Again!

"Yet again!?" My brother gasped as he asked me this question as if he was almost in awe as to how can one person ride to one place over and over again and NOT get bored of it. I did not have any answer to this curiosity of his because frankly speaking, I did not know myself why do I keep visiting the said place.

If you haven't guessed it already, then I did manage to sneak in yet another trip to Lansdowne. This was my 13th trip to Lansdowne. The place has become familiar already; from the two dogs (one brown and one black) that sit just outside the PCO of the main market, just beside the Mayur Hotel to even a few familiar faces that look at me in strange ways reminiscent of two lost brothers! Perhaps, like me, even they have started to get familiar with me. Who knows.

Anyhow, let me not bore you with the finer details of this wonderful place. I would rather want you to go, explore the place for yourself. Let me, rather, mention the other details about this beautiful ride. The ride was planned about a week back, when a very close and dear friend of mine Bandhav started asking me around for a place to ride to for the coming weekend.

Many destinations passed through our minds, including bu not limited to Narkanda, Kasauli, etc. but then as Lansdowne is just a stone's throw away from Delhi, we decided upon the place. Eventually, the rider's list stood as follows:

    1. Born2Lead (P200)
    2. SwiftRider (P220 DTS-i)
    3. KoolScorp (Honda Unicorn)
    4. Bandhav (Hero Honda Hunk)
    5. DD (Yamaha RX100)
    6. DCS (Hero Honda Karizma)
    7. Sandy (Bullet Electra)
    8. Aryan (P200)

It was a lovely formation ride all the way to Lansdowne, and back to Delhi. It felt really good to ride to Lansdowne yet again! I do not quite know how many more times I'll visit Lansdowne, but it is a place which has had a special place in my heart for reasons which are perhaps, beyond my understanding. Rest assured, if you stay in Delhi/NCR and are searching for just that perfect getaway for a weekend, then there is hardly any other place which can match the serenity and the beauty of Lansdowne.

I have not mentioned stuff like : the route taken, what we did on the trip, what are the usual places to visit, etc. because I want the other riders to pitch in with their share of write-ups and the pictures which they might have clicked, I am sure.

Here are a few pictures, just to start the thread. My net connection is pathetic today, hence, I'll be posting the rest of the pictures when it comes upto speed.

@Other riders: Please do pour in your set of pictures and write-ups too.

    Thanks,
    -Aryan

                      1. Born2Lead (P200) - a great rider, a great writer, very down to
earth person with good shutter qualities

                      2. SwiftRider (P220 DTS-i) - sorry brother but i havent met you but I am
sure with this group you were riding you
must be another cool person to be with

                      3. KoolScorp (Honda Unicorn) - Kamal bhai the guy who can make

                      4. Bandhav (Hero Honda Hunk) - A very nice person, very intellectual,
and again cool rider with good pen and paper qualities, and ofcourse the shutter qualities are excellent

                      6. DCS (Hero Honda Karizma)- ZMA with LED lights and indicators, the kangaroo pouch which when unleashed is like a "bhanumati ka pitara" excellent ability to click beautiful macros. A person with whom you will never get bored....and a gem of a person

                      7. Sandy (Bullet Electra)- Sandy again I havent met with you but then again as I said riding with this group means you would be another nice person to be with..

                            @Inder: Thanks bro.

At the start of the tour the bike had one but after the intial 40 kms he and kamal/koolscorp lost the group and when we reunite his bike had only half front mudguard. The reason as reported by him was some in route offroading.

Inder, it hasn't been like this as always, but I guess each trip makes me go to the HH store to buy one.
I lost my 1st mudguard on my trip to Spiti.
And this one, which was relatively new, gave up on the excellent road of Merrut By pass. how when why and where....... well, will be informing you mates soon.
