Okay!

And how is the 'Stranglehold' download going? Yes, it is a 12GB download no-less, so, it is going to take some time. Why don't you check out some local 'mecca' for the same? May be you can get your hands on it there, if it is not available off the shelf (original).

Aryan : Yeah, it is possible to a certain extent if the key components are not damaged. But I mostly likely will be pushing for a new replacement thru my dealer. Graphics card failures are becoming far too common nowadays Aryan, especially with manufacturers pushing the thermal and performance envelopes in the face of cut-throat competition. As a matter of fact my card never crossed 60-degrees even while playing Crysis for hours on end with max settings while people who reported to have reached 80 - 90 degrees are still happy!! U just cannot be sure with electronics....

Yes, one can never be sure with electronic items. I have had fried graphics card 'cases' as well, with two of my graphics card going kaput back in the early 2000. One was the Riva TNT and the other was a GeForce 2 GTS!

Oh man...GeForce 2 GTS!!! That was my favorite card! I have the Ti version running even now in one of my machines. But to be honest stock cooling on the graphics card is to blame. I had the Asus GeForce 2 Ti, and the stock fan failed. Blame it on the dust or humidity, but it's true. I had the whole heatsink/fan combo replaced with a Pentium III stock cooler on it from my techie friend after Asus refused to provide a replacement and now it runs unhindered.

And the download ... I haven't even started yet. So low is the number of peers, I doubt the download speed will ever cross 112 KBps. And I can only do that from 12:00 am till 8:00 am. (MTNL's Night unlimited plan...upto 2 Mbps). The mecca sounds promising, but I am not sure of the DVD working as it should. Lately my loyal provider has been using improper settings in Alcohol 120% and is causing all DVDs to be corrupt. Hmmm..10 nights at 1.5 Gb per 8 hours. Quite some time. I hope it turns out as good as your experience man!

Yes, the GTS was a behemoth for its time, although the GeForce 2 Ultra was THE card to get back then! But, I have always been loyal to NVIDIA, right from the GTS to the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 based cards, then shifting to a GeForce FX 5900 Ultra, through to the GeForce 7900 and now the GeForce 260GTX..

10 nights is a little too much a waiting time for 'Stranglehold'. Instead, get a DVD and install if off of it; just make sure it's working though because I hate to pay repeated visit to the mecca just to get a replacement DVD..

There is a 5.8 GB torrrent for Stranglehold, it works just fine. The character animation and explosions look good, but otherwise the textures, guns etc look very bland in the game. The cutscenes always play at 17 fps, dont know why!

Anyone excited about the new Prince of Persia game...its coming out 2nd Dec

Ah yes, read the review a little while back and it seems to be a welcome change from the earlier PoP games; would love to play and experience this "new" Prince all over again!

Processor - Core2Duo E8400 (3GHz)
RAM - 6GB
Motherboard - Intel model (don't exactly remember the model number/name)
Graphics Card - XFX GeForce GTX260..
Sound Card - I used to have a Sound Blaster Live card, but now am using the onboard 7.1 sound and I believe it is sufficient for me..
HDD - 2x500GB
PSU - Cooler Master 700W (or was it 750, will need to check..)
Case - I am not sure about the make of the case, but would be getting an NVIDIA case the coming month; it's huge and would give all the other components a good breathing space.. Although, it is a little expensive, but would be well worth it, I suppose.

whew! great setup there..

A friend of mine just ordered the following components for this gaming rig..

C2Q 9550
MSI P45 Platinum
MSI GTX260 core 216
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 2GB x2
WD SE640
Cooler Master 690c
Cooler Master Extreme 600w

I had the feeling that the 600 extreme might be under powered for his requirements... so wanted to check what you were using with your GTX260..
