As for the company owned company operated, I've tried a few which don't really make any difference. And considering one even tried to cheat me with the pump reading, I don't trust them any more than the normal pumps.

I've been sticking to Shell despite the high price. I haven't stopped eating veggies despite the high prices nowadays, and I wouldn't want to subject my bike to potentially bad fuel because of the lower price.

Guys.. does anyone have any knowledge about the Octane number in fuels that we need to choose depending on the compression ratio of the engine... n how does it harm the engine if we use low octane fuel on a high CR engine and hight octane fuel on a low CR engine..???

If we go by this then no one should use normal petrol which is 87 octane. I think most of the bikes have compression ratio more than 8 (Correct me if I am wrong).

Yeah you're right man.. it doesn't seem to be accurate info.

And all Tier-1 cities in India sell 91 octane itself as normal. This has been the case since 2006 I think.

well... i was a lil confused too, I'm no expert on fuels... prolly, little more googling might help.

I believe max a 9.1CR can take is 96 Octane.

So for R15 with compression Ratio 10.5:1 I will need to fill a fuel with octane number greater than 100. So Which one should I use?

this was the case in past when ioc used to sell 91octane as a normal one but it was a loss for the company as govt guide line says you can sell 89octane as a normal one .
