Discover (or for that matter of fact all bajaj bikes) sport 17 inch tyres....

and unicorn has an 18 inch rear tyre....

nothing more than 1500 bucks.. i currently have an irc front which costed me 2.8k! and it is 100/80/17 which is a little overkill for the bike and bad cornering stability!

any good tyres in mrf range?

hmmm.... you are using the R15's rear tyre spec IRC (MB 99) for your front!!! right?

Saw that yesterday for Rs 1650 as R15's rear tyre is not available anywhere.

May be you can try one of those stock tyres for the front from Dunlop or MRF. How about the Ceat 100/90 x 17 TL Vertigo Sport for Rs 1000???

^^^ fatter tyre = more contact patch + extra weight. There would be a drop in efficiency... can't say how much.
