Post Hunk OR FZ-s OR Pulsar 180

Hey guys i'm confused mainly between Hero Honda Hunk and Pulsar 180.

180 why? because its better than 150 IMO.

Why Hunk? because of pillion comfort and better Mileage.

Hunk is in option because i've heard pulsar needs more service and spares replacement - I'm a college student so you know i think must avoid such things :P

Why Fz-s , I love that model, But can someone please confirm if the Pillion IS VERY uncomfortable or its ok

because if that can be managed i would love to go for it.

My requirements :

1. Mileage doesnt matter.
2. Budget 80k.
3. Pillion comfortable.
4. Less maintenence cost.
5. 150 cc +.
6. Reliablity to go on GOOD for some years (3 minimum).
7. Some touring in every 3-5 months.

Reading the requirements i know what you all are gonna say :P

Nopes no Honda Unicorn i dont like the style

Just these 3.

1. Hunk
2. Pulsar 180
3. yamaha Fz-s

I've asked this previously on the pulsar thread,

but i think discussing this on a new thread would be usefull to many others too.

Well if u had asked this a few months earlier, I would have recommended the P180, but in the present situation, I would ask you to wait for a couple of months until the new Pulsars enter the market.
If you are a power freak, simply go for the pulsar. And regarding the seat, the pillion seat is way more comfortable than the rider's.

I'm gonna buy in first week 2012 so yes I would be looking forward for the upgraded pulsar.

Frankly I have read alot of complaints about Bajajs quality being very bad and also service.

Service doesn't matter as I'm gonna use it very efficiently. But quality does.

Believe me I always wanted a pulsar, I love the new pulsars looks but still i am refraining because I don't want alot of issues.

Can anyone provide their input about how well HH hunk competes pulsar 180 on everything except speed.

Some of the points to be distinguished would be:

1. Handling.
2. Gear shifting.
3. Maintenance.
4. Service
5. Reliablity.

Thank you

Btw my height is 5'9.

Thank you
Hey bro, just noticed that the spy pics of the new pulsars are out.I think its an KTM engineered bike. So if you can wait for a month or so things will be more detailed and i think the decision making process will be a lot more easier.
And by the looks of the bike seems to be a 150 cc, the only reason i said that is cause of the exclusion of rear disc.

Now about the comparisons, i can give you an idea about the pulsar, i have had only a single ride on a hunk(old model) so cannot really comment anything legit on that.

1. Handling - The can be easily handled,i haven't faced much issues with my pulsar, from my single ride on the hunk have felt it to be too heavy for a 150 cc.
2. Gear shifting - Pulsars are known for the tight gear shifts, but the new series of pulsars(current one) are pretty much more refined, and using the correct grade engine oil(preferably motul ss after run in helps greatly in eliminating rough shifts.).
3. Maintenance - Not a big issue, infact if you take good care of the bike it will have almost 0 issues. Personal experience from my ride and i know a few friends with same experience with their pulsars.
4. Service - Service centers are common for the 180, BUT..always be sure to know which place has the best mech and take it there, because if the mech doesn't know how to work on the machine , they will spoil it and that will start giving you issues with the bike.
5. Reliablity - The current range of pulsars are much much more reliable, but you may find it lacking in refinement.
Hope this helps bro.

I agrre to you partially, even I am in a phrase to buy new bike. The guy wnats a bike which should be comfortable for pillion as well besides performance. I guess the next brred of bikes would be on the sportier side which would mean the pillion seat wont be so comfortable.

I have the same requirement regarding the pillion seat and thats why zeroed in on P220.

The FZ seat gets narrow and thin towards the pillion end. An average built GUY would most probably have his butt on the grab rails as well
Also being thin, It gets uncomfortable for long rides.

No problems whatsoever with the rider's part of the seat though.

yes agreed, the spy pics (if the pics are of pulsar) shows that the bikes are alot more sportier.

I'll go for the p180 UG 4 if the new pulsars arent too good.
