Default Pulsar 180 Vs Apache RTR 180

I'm interested in these two bikes
the apache rtr 180 and the pulsar 180

    i travel 15-20 kms everyday
rare tourer. About max 150-150 kms(up and down) in a year.(i do love touring. Maybe someday i will go further.)

    My Queries on Apache 180

    Vibration

1>>>>How bad is it? Rode the hyperedge at 70kmph....didn't feel any vibes
2>>>>Heard the vibrations start at mid 60s and ends at mid 70s. Also heard another theory that the vibe starts at mid 60s and doesn't end. Which is true?
3>>>>how good of a touring bike is it?(i don't go above 100 kmph. So is the bike smooth till then?)

    Mileage
1>>> i need atleast 45kmpl in the city

    VFM
Is this worth buying when i have to compromise on non-smoothness and lesser mileage?

    on pulsar 180
1>>>is the pickup as good as the rtr. How much of a difference is there between these two bikes with respect to acceleration?
2>>>Whenever there is a comparision reviews between 200+ccs, apache 180 is also included but never the pulsar 180...why? Is the apache 180 that good or is the pulsar 180 that bad?

Are there any other bikes in the 180 segment?

Bcz Apache 180 is a bit faster than P180 I guess. also RTR 180 represents the TVS as a flagship model but P180 is not the flagship model of Bajaj. Bajaj's flagship model is P220 and almost launched P200NS.
There aren't any other bikes in the 180cc segment. 200NS is bigger but much more powerful than these bikes and much expensive too yet worth it.
    Whats there in a signature?

    I will sum it up....
Pulsar 180: A very comfortable mini "Sports tourer"..Great shocks..Average handling..Cruises at triple digits without stressing..Cheaper spares
RTR 180: A mini "Super Sport" Raw power from the 1st gear itself(RX 100 type)..Agressive forward lean sitting position-hence not comfortable as Pulsar..Average shocks..Awesum handling..Cruises at 90-100 easily..yes,it has vibrations, but no big deal here(you just have to shift Right)..Better breaks.

As you are concerned for touring... I would recomend you P220(naked).it does every thing better than P180 and still gives a milage of around 40.
I was in exact dillema 2.5 years back,bt I was a very occasional tourer and more of a power junkie.

^^ +1 . Well said . performance - get an rtr 180 , you would love it . pulsar 180 cant beat rtr here . But it is a little bit smoother and very stable in high speed , no vibration at all .
Handling wise , rtr is nimble feels light and pulsar 180 feels heavier but stable at cornering .
As per mileage , Pulsar may satisfy you here. But rtr mileage is a doubt . . If i were you , i would pick up an rtr
Edit - i have ridden both, it is my personal feeling , perhaps you better do a test drive .

Try stretching ur budget a bit and take the Pulsar 220S. Faster than RTR and all advantages of Pulsar 180.
200NS will lead to a lot of stretching.

Both are good bikes, no doubt about it. They got different characters, take a test ride, that should clear your doubts. I believe RTR180 is a bit costlier due to rear disc, but at about the same price you can get P220S. So, include P220S in your test rides. Then decide for yourself.

TVS claims mileage of 58.xx for apache... some people are getting that mileage... even you'll get it if you ride in a certain way... majority of people get 42-45...
    I get 39-42

A180 has much better pick up than P180... no questions about that...
TVS has priced the spares a little higher than Pulsar(I dont know the cost of Bajaj spares, but thats what i heard)

    Regarding the famous vibes issue:
I started reading these forums about 5-6 months after i bought my A180 and until i joined these forums i didnt know that my bike had some mysterious vibe issue...
But i do agree that my friends Hyperedge which is 3 months old is much much smoother than my 2010 march model A180...
If you are considering the A180, i suggest you the ABS version, i have personally never ridden it, but it may save your life one day...

The reliability and of Apache is unquestionable from my experience.

+1 to what sambit said. If you need pure performance go for apache and if you want performance with comfort then pulsar.
And some people here are suggesting pulsar220S, but don't think it's still in production.

I try to have a different relationship with the bike. I don't give it a name, but i always speak with it. I don't know if the other riders do the same. This is not only a piece of metal, but there is a soul.

go rtr way,it's better than p180 in pick-up,keeps up in pick-up with 220 upto 60 kmph, handles way better than p180,lacks the smoothness of pulsar, stability upto 120 kmph is good,fe in the range of 38-45,not that comfortable on long ride, but it's about getting used to the forward biased riding position.
my suggestion=go for the abs ,it is worth the money.
is 220 s still in production?
about famour rtr vibes,i would rather like to mention it as lack of refinement.it is lesser in new pproductions.i love the vibes, the grunt of rtr,it makes you feel you are riding a beast.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
    #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.
