Go for Apache 180 RTR anytime.
    Reasons:
    1) Apache 180 cc (more power more fun)
    2) Looks better than FZ-s (what I feel)
    3) White Color (distinct)
    4) ABS (No other bike within this price) and they are very effective
    5) The sound of engine is RAW (you will feel it, once you twist)
    6) Though FZ-S has a wider rear tyre, but Apache is not bad at all
    7) Considering the personality, Apache suits you for sure.

    Cheers!

if you are opting non ABS then go with RTR 160 Fi if it's available??

    Else FZ only!!!

NON ABS then FZ is much better!

I guess rtr 180 dont come without ABS ??

TVS Apache RTR 180 is "available" without ABS model (costing 11k lesser then Actualy ABS model, 84k on Road Mumbai)...

Where as ABS model is only available in White/Black ... where as Without ABS you can also get Gray color (I personally didnt like that color, though it depends)

    so here is list

TVS Apache 180 ABS (Black or White) - 17.3bhp
TVS Apache 180 (Black, White or Gray) - 17.3 bhp
TVS Apache 160 Hyperedge (BlackGreen, YellowBlack, RedBlack or GrayBlack) - 15.2 Bhp

I loved the fiery orange version of new fz-s...also the beast themed new RTR.
But since my budget is limited to 80k,I cant go for the ABS..and non ABS doent look that great, with its less visible racing stripes....
I'm not into much street racing and all, still i love that feel, when i arrive alone leaving others behind...will yamaha fzs dissapoint me...? does it lag too much power and torque..?
someone said,RTR has higher low end power, and fz has mid end power...(pardon me,if i'm not making any sense!)...whats this high and low end really about?

with your kind of budget apache 160 is the best you can get.fz may disappoint you in terms of fe and top end performance,low-mid range torque is good enough for city, and let me tell you the truth even pulsar 135 is better performer than fz.

and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

In this thread no one has supported FZ compared to RTR 180... But I think you love FZ-s if so ask your heart and see what it says and decide accordingly.

If you are not concerned much about power then go for FZ it will not disappoint you in the city and very good city handler compared to RTR 180.

Yes if you love fz go for it without doubt as you will be the one who ride bike & there is nothing like which bike is superior to other, it depends
    *PERIODS

Where as I differ from "Dinesh" on City Ride point, RTR is best when comes to City Handler, RTR's acceleration, Low-mid range torque & Mileage (Compare to Engine Capacity), Braking (Razor Sharp) & Engine...

This all factors comes in mind in City Riding & being unbiased RTR overtook FZ in all of this aspects (remember comparing with 160 Apache)...

Where as i feel 180Apache has no comparison with FZ ...

Where as factor which supports FZ-s is Smooth & Calm engine & Better Rear Tyre ...

Exhaust... No need to say anything

Friend what to support here for ???

Both are best in their own segments. Mainly we should not compare these two engines due to difference of Style, power, etc. Yamaha has more better brand name than TVS today. Looks are very subjective. But FZ looks more kooler than RTR! RTR is more quicker and has better speed than FZ. RTR is speed friendly where as FZ is not.
Average is more or less same for both!! not much difference. But don't know the TVS ASC. RTR owners can shed light here! Maintenance of RTR would be at higher side compare to FZ as RTR is more advance than FZ with dual disc and FI engine. please correct if wrong!
