I'm not sure about the price, but folks here have mentioned it to be around 8.5 on road, depending on the state taxes.
The cbr 650 is actually 50000 rupees cheaper now for some weird reason. What worries me is the super committed seating position. Not exactly comfy for long rides and the price tag is a let down.

Also, it's a logical upgrade to Duke 390, with both sharing the hooligan nature.
Actually told triumph to bugger off. Their products are very good but super pricey. Not to mention if you read my initial post youll see that I was scorned by triumph. If they only knew how to sell the bikes. Trust me people buy triumph for the bikes, otherwise the sales is just crap.

Here 2 of my friends ownn tnt25, one had coolant leak the other had issues in speedometer, some sensors were replaced under warranty.

After a full tank, the petrol overflows directly on top of the engine, that is pathetic engineering.

Unless you like the exhaust note, there is no point in buying it.

CBR650F is far far better option if you can afford.

    Cheers.

I can afford the 650 and like its looks too. What I dont like is the committed riding stance which is super problematic if I wanna go for long rides. But like I said the test ride is still pending so gonna decide after that.

Super commited seating position for CBR 650? Look at that seat man, it looks perfect to carry a baby calf or a heavy pillion. Please take a test ride. The riding position is similar to the CBR 250, which has a bit of lean to the bars, but once you get used to it, 500,1000 kms a day touring isn't going to be a big thing.

I have chronic back pain, and still can tour on the little 250 without much pain.

Took a ride on the cbr650 today as a matter of fact and am very happy. The bike is the embodiment of all the things I want in a bike. It lacks poser value but is rich in refinement. The engine is smooth and classy due to it's quite exhaust which I like the best. The bike has a very comfy seat and I can do 500kms on it with ease with a couple of breaks every 150kms or so. I love it

Now I have a big question. Honda is offering the cbr650 2016 model for 50000 rupees discount as the new 2017 model has already arrived. But the new model has a revamped headlamp, one more paint scheme and 4 extra bhps. So is it worth going in for the 50k discount or should I choose the new model which really offers nothing new to me for 50k more. Both models have ABS and are both BS4.

    So what do I do?

Please guide me guys I really feel the year is meaningless for bikes like these as there are very few mostly cosmetic changes done. what do you guys think?

Balgi - this is one decision where you make the choice with your mind. I'd say, if you are short on cash, then save the ₹50k for accesories or gear. Gotta keep some extra for the footpath dweller fund too.

I have it on very good authority that the colour choices are not gonna be available anytime soon. Not to mention the upgraded headlight or the increased power. The 2016 models are sold out and the 2017 models are in. And there are no changes to the bike whatsoever. The sales guy at honda told me that they are now willing to give me 20k off the price tag but I am doubtful if they are being truthful with me. I love the bike but not enough to be happy withbeing duped. I need some info and I swear my research will be thorough regarding the same. I will leave no stone unturned. And anyone willing to help me with any info on the same please do so. Honestly I really don't care about the year as I will probably not be looking to ride the bike for a year and sell it. Also if it was available I still wouldn't care about the added power as 230+ kmph is very unreal in India. so I am happy with the 85 bhp configuration but I still want my moneys worth and any help regarding the same will be appreciated. Please guys help me.

    Regards
    Balgi

Why are you not considering the new 2017 ninja 650 and z650, z900 if you are considering the street triple which will get new models in the upcoming months, even the 650 f is slightly upgraded, power has been bumped up to 91bhp with LEDs.Also do consider the FZ-09. Incredibly fun machine, just loves to wheelie.

FZ-09 is out of budget. Out right don't like the 2017 z650. Did consider the n650 but felt like getting a decent inline 4 instead (sound not a plus on a big capacity twin). And if you read a few earlier posts in fact if you read my first post you'll see that Triumph mistreated me otherwise I was more interested in getting the street twin that the new speed triple (which is again out of budget). As for the z900 I first thought it was like the z800 which was too tall and too top and front heavy for me at 5'8"1/2 height though it turns out that it is just front heavy and tall now which I guess reduces 10% of my problem. The 650f is not getting any upgrade for the India model at least for now I know coz I booked the 2017 model cbr 650f.
