Default Which bullet to go for ?

hey guys im planning to buy a 2nd hand bullet . Ive Considered to go for either a machismo or a standard bullet .. its definately going to be a 350cc .I want to know about which one is good ..i dont want 2 deal with engine problems ,oil leaks , excessive vibrations etc etc.. as im completely new to bullets .

The bellow listed models are those from which i have got to make a choice from :
Standard bullet : 1980
Standard bullet : 1982
Standard bullet : 1990
Machismo : 2000

hey guys can u guide me about what have i to keep in mind before purchasing any of the above listed bikes. I hope that im guided well before making a decission.thanks in advance though ..

How much is the quote for the machismo? Earlier machismo's have the same Cast Iron engine as the std 350s and electras. Have you taken a ride on all of these?
If you dont want to deal with all that you have mentioned above, you should be looking elsewhere!
Else, go for the CI engine ones if you want the traditional feel and the newer machismos or tbirds if you want a faster spinning engine.

How about Hero Honda Karizma - it is a great bike for highway as well as city riding. No engine problems, oil leaks or vibrations, etc etc.

As regards a second hand Bullet - if you don't know anything about Bullets:

......... Then how will you make a choice of best quality second hand bike ?

Year of Make could be 2007 and the bike could get f***ed up in a single year - so I suggest you get in touch with a Bullet Owner OFFLINE and see his Expenses and Troubles and then decide whether you want a second-hand White Elephant.

I am happy with my Bullet Electra 4S so far

Bullet is of course not a trouble free bike; it seeks a lot of attention from the user.

If you don’t want to deal with the problems, think of some other bikes like ZMA, of course a popular option, or any other bike.

Buddy my personal suggestion would be to go for New Bullet instead of 2nd hand bullet as it will provide hassle free ride, as earlier bullets did had some oil leaks issue.

no i have not ridden any of these, i have a mech out here he only envolves himself in english bikes and bullets. he told me no to go for the machismo because its a flop model and + some other reasons . He told me to go for a standard bullet cause that is total vfm . every penny spen on it gives you satisfaction . so machismo is ruled out from my stable ..
i will be going tomorrow to check out the standard models . till den i have my fingers crossed

hey ankur the reason that i dont want to go for a new bullet is because it doesnt have that old feel . i dont want a very much refined engine when it comes to a bullet. i want a bullet with the vice versa gear n brake . i have allways had a feeling of having a old bullet . so thats the only reason why i dont want to go in for a new bullet .. The 2nd reason is that im going to be buyin another bike say by may or something . 200cc +

Then you should be checking out the std 350 or the electra 4s. Both have cast iron engine, with the solid thump and come with gear lever on right n brake on left. However std 350 runs on cb points ignition while the electra 4s runs on tci ignition. IIRC, the earlier std 350 s have a heavier crank, and are thereby torquier.
AS for what the mechs say, the less said the better. True they know a lot about these bikes, but when they push the std 350, its also because they see future business. And these guys are not so familiar with the newer avl engined machismos or the tci equipped electras(whose ignition is prob free).
