Default HI, Rohit from Pune

Hi Xbhpians! I am Rohit Sapru from Pune, 29 yrs old, working in IT.
Been a lurker on this forum for some time now. Am a two-stroke lover, have owned Suzuki Shaolin in the past, currently own Yamaha RX100, dream of owning an RD350 someday!

Planning to buy a new four stroke now. Had narrowed down my options to R15, ZMA, ZMR. Did a 'test-sitting' of R15 at Yamaha Riders Pune, as nobody is giving test rides! Riding position appears to be a bit aggressive. I'm 5'11" and 90 kgs and I feel its a perfect bike for somebody smaller and slimmer. Jokes apart, I think the dealbreaker with R15 is my lack of fitness. I feel long term ownership of this wonderful motorcycle demands its rider to be fit, in order to cope up with things like back pain. With a heavy heart I told myself that this bike is not for me. Pillion comfort is also important to me.

Coming to ZMA/ZMR. To my knowledge no dealer in Pune is taking bookings for ZMR right now. They will take booking in April and bike would be delivered by Sep/Oct. However, the dealer in Chinchwad has told me over the phone that he is taking bookings and delivery time is 2-2.5 months and all colors are available. I plan to visit the shop this weekend and see the bike on display.

cheers
Rohit.

Welcome to xbhp...dude, trust me when I say, go for the R15, you will not regret it. I weigh more than you do, and I am absolutely comfortable.

Welcome to Xbhp Rohit. If you need a 'pocket rocket' go for the R 15 or else if you need a no nonsense 'gentle giant' then go for the Karizma, but since you have a RX 100 I feel R 15 will be the apt replacement. All the best, Ride Safe and keep us posted!

Gray-haired riders don't get that way from pure luck.

Post The Karizma is more comforting

Hi Rohit and welcome to the forum. This forum is one nice way to learn many things about bikes and riding.
From the ZMA and the R15, the ZMA is more of a touring bike and the R15 is more of a race bike. Both the machines are simply brilliant although the R15 has liquid cooling and the mono-suspension.
I would say look at your requirements and then decide. If you are going to go on long rides, take the ZMA and if you love to carve corners then, it is the R15 for you.
You cant go wrong with either of the bikes.
Cheers!

Hi Rohit, good to have u in here another punekar,i stay in nana peth,mu name is chris,My ht is also 5'11 and 74kgs i would not suggest for an R15 as its a low ride bike not suitable fo tall guys,if a tall guy sits its like a pony, why dont u go for FZ quite good bike if properly taken care.
my friend Is working for Yamaha shared his views about bikes maintenence and etc, after all its a personal choice.
take care brother!!!!!
