Smile A hello from an old member

Hello Xbhpians

This is Khushpreet Singh Sokhi from Jalandhar, Punjab. I was at the old xbhp forums a few years back. Maybe some of you remember me with my handle captainsokhi. Today, I am feeling very exited to share some information about myself. I hope you will not find it boring. It all started about 5-6 years back when when I was 18 and wanted to buy a motorcycle. But, as it is with about all parents, bikes are regarded as extremely dangereous vehicles, same was the case with me. It was very hard to convince them from even a 150cc pulsar at that time. But, I succeded and got myself a pulsar 150. I was very happy at that moment. I had and have always dreamt of owning a superbike as about all of us do. At that time, I did not know much about how they performed and all and was just liking how they looked. So, I wanted my pulsar to look like those biggies. Then, I myself modified my pulsar to look like some superbike. Here is a pic of it: (I did it all be myself)

I was then spotted by someone from Xbhp.com and was given XBHP's card and was told about the forum. It was then, when my whole way of looking at bikes was changed. I came to know about what it is to ride a superbike and why one should not modify a punny 150cc bike like I did. I removed all the unnecessary weight on the bike and soon started enjoying her. But, only after a few months, I started feeling the need for more power, a more powerful bike, a superbike. But, at that point of time there was not even a percent chance of getting one, because of the money, the availability, etc. and I switched to cars with one thing in mind, that my next bike will be a superbike, may it be after 10 or 15 years. But, time has shown its wonders, superbikes were now pretty easily available and even my pocket will now allow me to buy one. Now, the only part left was to take parents permission. It started a few months ago, that I started convincing my parents on buying a bike. First, they thought I am out of mind as right now I am having Civic and what am I gonna do with a bike. I told them superbikes are not for everyday riding. I just want one as it is my dream to own one and I will be taking her out only on sundays or some times in evenings. After, showing them a superbike in person and some very hard convincing, they said YES! That was the day of my life. I got super duper exited. Then, it was time to choose from the liter class bikes. Though I have always been a fan of R1, I wanted to have a look on all of them again. I went to different showrooms and some owners also and found out the GSX-R1000 seems to be perfect for me. So, finally it was the day, the day I have always waited for. The day I will buy a superbike. After talking to the showroom people, I came to know that the gixxer was out of stock at all places in the white/blue color and I will have to wait for approx. 3 months for delivery. Anyways, I had no other option but to wait. So, on the 4th of March 2011 I booked my dream, the Suzuki GSX-R 1000 in White/Blue color. Now, its getting hard and hard each day to wait for the baby. Hope I get it soon.

Introduction Approved

Welcome to xBhp

Congrats for booking the GSX-R. Just one question what made you go for the GSX-R over R1 even though R1 is your favourite liter class bike. Awaiting a new ownership thread from you

Thanks man.
Choosing Gixxer over R1 was mainly because of seat height. I am just 5'5" and at R1 is a pretty tall bike. Once, I sat on the cbr, r1 and gixxer, I felt the best bet is the gixxer as its got the lowest seat height of all.

Very logical. I was wondering whether you found Gixxer bigger than the other two and hence finalised it.
