Default Hello guys ..

Who am I! when facing this ques my knee jerk reaction would be " I am Tanumoy Panja, age 22 and software engg by profession.". That would be it. I have been a part of this community for some months now and thought that i will "officially" intoduce myself. Now when facing the same ques on this community, my mind draws a entirely diffent situation and a diffrent reaction altogeather.

What my mind draws would be in the brackets
{ I would be that guy who used to sit on a bullet's tank,holding it by its horns, my uncle driving and all the while i would be thinking "WOW my really good at driving this thing".This was the in thing for 2-3 years slowly as my uncle moved to a different place as the quote goes "out of sight out of mind" the same happened with me the bullet faded out of mind.

Fast forward 8 yrs and i was in class 12 still not knowing how to ride a bike, I would be really embarrassed when my friends would be pulling wheelies and doing tripsy!!! So one fateful day as it would happen i got my hands on the old M80 which was used to bring groceries, still remember it clearly it was raining cats and dogs and i was riding it on the twisties of Shillong "the Scotland of east". The thing would not pull on the steep climbing and at that high speed (pun intended) on a curve and manged to kiss the tar. As the speed was so great and me not wearing any safety gears, I returned home without any scratches.

So after that ride i was again bitten by the bug, never got to ride that M80 again. Got my father's BAJAJ CHETAK and convinced him to let me ride it. SO he sat behind me and VOILA i pulled a wheelie so high that I would put some stunters to shame. But somehow i got the hang of the position of the engine and all.In My second year of engg and after a lot of convincing and giving a lot of tests (my father would sit behind me and i had to drive at 40 on the "chetak") i was given my first bike a second hand CBZ classic. Had two minor crashes on it and my friends pulsar and got the full concept of using the DISC breaks and since not wearing a helmet was the trend among us friends got a good scar on my face (scarface anyone). So made sure that next time whatever happens to my geled and spiked hair I would always wear a HELMET. Recently i managed to fishtail my R15 at 100 something, totally flowed with the speed and did a wrong judgment of the curve and in panic pulled the front breaks still leaning, another big NO (it was night time so there was no traffic so tried to push my limits) .

Now I may give the idea that i would be really a rash driver but NO!!! i would be a accident magnet now this has really caused me to be on my guards all the while and enjoying the whole of it.

At this point of time I own a Apache RTR 160 and YZF R15 both wonderful machines and always put a ear to ear grin on my face whenever those things redlines. I really love the rush of doing twisties and doing streches which people (non-Xbhp, non bikers) would think about doing in their CARS !!! I am thinking to upgrade to 600's in a few years, lets hope this comes true .

Now people may wonder why such a long intro ... ehhh partly because this would be my 100th post and partly due to the fact that i am traveling to my home city on rails and all the time I was thinking about the Apache and where I would take it. }

Now the reaction part

Hi guys i am Tanumoy, I love to ride my bike like you guys and I learned a lot about biking from the thousands of posts which would normally require me to crash for some 10-15 more times, to get on my own. My sincere thanks to all the people who made me realise and know more about the ride and the rider and made me good overall as a better biker.

Cheers guys , enjoy the rides and ride safe.
