Default First 5 digits with the new P150 UG IV - Stats

My War Horse entered the legions of 5 digits...

After 5.5 months of our togetherness we together have graduated a small milestone of completing 10,000 Kms and both of us are not complaining. This small time gave me lots of stories to remember and lots of tales to tell; where my previous bikes gave me ample support this one is special to me on so many aspects. First being is that it is my own earned horse where as previous ones were either a gift from parents or my friends’ so I share a lot of belongingness with this particular machine.

Or shall we say you need a special reason to love all your machines, and invariably you will find it any which way. One was dear to me because it was dad’s gift, other was close as it was my friend’s but he giving his bike to me was more for the trust he had in my biking skills over his own.

Here are a few stats about the bike’s performance I have got from my P150 UG IV:
Total run: 10,159 Kms (as on 16th Oct 2009)
Bought on: 4th May 2009, (making it 5 months 12 days old baby)
Best Mileage: 50 Km/L (if I drive like a good boy i.e. around 5K rpm levels)
Worst Mileage: 43 Km/L (Around 8K rpm levels)
Non Stop Stretch: Delhi – Jaipur (in 4 hours)
Any issues with the bike: NIL
Performance of Clutch plates: Very satisfactory
Tires: Stock (Though thought of using R15's front tyre but left it as stock...)

Future Trips: Planned single day Neemrana Fort trip in December.
Note: In my first paid service the Bajaj workshop guy adviced me to change the spark plugs as they should be due for a change every 10K.....
WHEREAS my understanding was in tune that good spark plugs should carry on till 20-25K easily.... Need inputs from you all....

I cleaned up and used the same Air Filter but the Agent adviced for a new Air Filter too without even seeing the condition of my air filter. Almost 90% of my rides have been on clean tarmac roads as I travelled mostly to te major cities with decent travel conditions, and very less offroading... Need you suggestions on this too..

Also can any one tell me any good mechanic in or near I.P.Extention area of Delhi (Near Mayur Vihar).

Great going M@verick! Why don't you post your trips in the tourer section? It will get more attention there.

Your albums show that you have toured in the gulf as well. Were you working there before?
