Default Mini G2G : Pune guys meet Mumbai guys

THIS IS A COMPLETE TRIP LOG AND CONTAINS PICS TOO. THAT MAKES IT LONG TO READ, AND LONG TO LOAD TOO. CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS TO SEE A BIGGER PIC.

Hi ppl, Rash here.

On Monday, that’s the 17th of this month, we finally convinced soulreaper to join us on a trip to Mumbai (This guy has a BIG hatred for Mumbai, don’t know why). Anyway, so we finalized Tuesday morning as our day of departure. It were 4 us on 3 bikes, Me on the Karizma with Dhiraj as pillion, Bhuvan (soulreaper) on his FZR 250 and Tavish on his CBZ (the same modded CBZ whose pics were posted by Bhuvan earlier on this site). As Bhuvan's bike was undergoing final tune up, we decided to have lunch. and then we finally left for Mumbai at 4. It took us around 4 hours to reach the heart of Mumbai, but our ride was awesome. We left Pune with a blazing sun that matched the blazing speed of FZR. We took the old highway and so could stop anywhere we wanted to. Getting past the trucks was no problem, thanks to the monstrous sound of the FZR. The sound was only matched by the thunderous resonance made by the clouds. They gave us a nice wet welcome into Lonavla...With such a rainy welcome, all that we could do was stop below a tree and wait for the welcome ceremony to end.

JUST AFTER THE RAINS STOPPED....

THROUGH THE CLOUDS AT KHANDALA....

After sometime we resumed our journey to Mumbai. After some great driving experience on the curvaceous roads near Panvel, we stopped again cause everyone had to go behind the trees.

BEHIND THE TREES...

After relieving ourselves, we decided that the only place we stop now is at Dhiraj's house in Mumbai. cause it was already getting dark. So we again resumed our journey and finally hit Mumbai. Mumbai welcomed us the same way as Lonavla did, but now we were used to it. So we finally got to our friend's residence and were totally relieved.

After freshening up, I gave Ken a call and told him about our unexpected arrival. He was more than happy to hear that (at least he sounded like that..). So we finally decided to meet at 1:30 in the night, cause that was the time poor Ken leaves for home from work. So with that decided , our Pune guys moved out for dinner. After a carnivorous consumption, Bhuvan was so full that the only action that he could perform was that of hitting the bed ASAP. So that’s was the end of the mid-night plan. I informed Ken abt it, he was cool, maybe he was expecting that this would happen. So we decided that he would call up Sunny (Koolsun) and fix up something and let us know....

[u]DAY I :

Wednesday, 19th May, 2004.

Sunny called me up in the morning at around 9 and told us that he and Ken would meet us at 11 at the Worli Sea Face. So we had "ONLY" two hours to get ready. I said ONLY 2 hrs. cause me and Bhuvan are two big lazy bags...but somehow we managed to get ready. By around 11:15 we met up with Ken and Sunny at the Wroli sea face. They gave us a warm welcome, THANKS A LOT DUDES. So the plan was to head over to Central Park cause Bhuvan wanted to check out a few accessories for his new baby. On the way, fortunately, was Bachoo Motors ( MANN am I happy I know him). As we were just about to pass the shop, I saw a gigantic bronze colored fiber body on 2 wheels. Yes, that was the Hayabusa, the one and only, The HAYABUSA. I just looked at Ken and pointed in the direction of the bronze giant...and he was like, WTF??? Both of us stopped in the middle of the road and without any second thoughts took our bikes straight to Bachoo Motors. Poor Sunny who was leading the way had no idea where we disappeared, and had to come back all the way searching for us. Me and Ken were totally speechless, all that he did was, looked at the bike, looked at me, and gave me a devilish grin. Then we made our way inside the shop and Bhuvan started looking for some good helmet in the store. Poor Ken was still speechless...
In the meantime Bhuvan got himself a nice lookin helmet, a pair of gloves and a a few other accessories. Then our speechless Ken gathered some strength and asked the owner if he could crank up the monster...and thankfully he agreed. He came out, put in the keys, waited for the self-check to finish and then asked Ken to start her up. Ken was so delighted to do that...one small push of the button and she ROOOOAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRED !!! Do I even need to describe how our faces were..almost the same as the ur face has become after reading this. We had a small photo session, and then without talking to each other we just mounted or bikes. Sunny said, "Lets head to Central Garage" and all of us followed without a word.

SHE SUITS MY SIZE...

KARIZMA AND THE BUSA, WHAT A GARAGE IT WOULD BE....

At Central Garage, we met a Legend called Mr. Kishan Rao (MORE ON THAT COMING SOON...). Bhuvan and I checked out a few accessories at his place and after we were done we again followed Sunny. Sunny then showed us around...some of the best roads I have ever seen...Bandra Reclamation...Banstand...Bandra sea-face...awesome. We stopped at the Bandra Reclamation, where Ken and I took the FZR for a top end run. After fooling around a bit, the two lazy bags, that’s me and bhuvan, were hungry (c'mon, it was 4:00). So we decided that these ppl take us till Juhu and then we disperse. And so we did. Again we decided that Ken would meet us at 1:30, but u all must be knowing by now what actually happened....

[u]DAY II :

Thursday, 20th May 2004.

Ken again calls us up in the morning to ask if we are gonna meet again. And we say yes. We had to do some shopping near Haji Ali so we asked them to join us directly near Haji Ali. After the shopping, again we were hungry, so all of us headed to McDonalds. We just finished up and then Ken called up saying that they had reached Haji Ali. Then they met us at McDonalds cause even they had to have somethin for breakfast. This time they were joined by Kunal (Octane).

AT McDONALD'S...

After some chat we left for Central Garage again where we had to get some more parts. After all that **** we came back to Dhiraj's residence, packed our bags and all of us headed to Worli sea-face. There we had a helluva time...Kunal tried the FZR on the open stretch of the sea-face..followed by me. Kunal was totally bowled over by the sound of the Yam. Then Bhuvan (FZR 250) and Kunal 9 Ken's Karizma) had a drag on the sea-face road.
The obvious winner was the FZR. Please don’t start comparing both the bikes, we just did this for fun. After everyone tried their driving fiancé on the FZR, we requested Bhuvan to show what he does best - WHEELIES. With a heavy yet kind heart, Ken gave Bhunav his Karizma..and Bhuvan showed some excellent stuff too...That was it. 4 o'clock, time to move back to Pune. But we had one helluva time in those two days. We did nothin great, but still its was very exciting. We met these 3 very very nice people and we are looking forward to meet them again on the 30th.

Alright guys... here are the pics I took with my camera... There are quite a few so it may take a while to load..

I know that I cant even come close to Rash's description of the last two days so I'll let the pictures speak for itself...

This is the baby that drove Rash and I speechles... a '99 Hayabusa (obviously unrestricted) with dual Two Brothers custom cans.. When I started it up, it was so loud, a couple of guys standing behind it (who chose not to be named [:P]) literally jumped outta their skin!!

(Pic taken with Rash's 6600)

We also saw this nice looking Yamaha Dragstar Classic at Central Garage..

At Mc Donalds - Bikers gotta eat too, right??

L-R : Kunal(Octane), Tavish, Dhiraj, Sneaky Rash, Bhuvan (Soulreaper), Sunny (Koolsun) & Ken

At Worli Seaface

L-R : Sunny, Tavish, Bhuvan, Dhiraj, Rohit, Creepy Guy standing in background, Kunal, Ken

After the photo session, Bhuvan and Kunal had a small drag for fun... needless to say, my bike got creamed by the FZR.. we later found out that Bhuvan was flying low...there was remains of an unfortunate dead bird in his exhaust can ( Shhhhh guys.... dont tell them the real story )

Sorry Rash, but I cant resist posting this once more... Thanks again Bhuvan!

And lastly, to end an already fabulous day, after Sunny, Kunal and I bid farewell to our friends from Poona, we went to Tony's garage.. close to where we stay - to check on Kunal's RD, I clicked this pic on top of Tony's '93 Gixxer 750 (118 horses!).. The photo angle aint too good coz it was kept in a pretty small place... so most of the pic is covered by my... ummmmm... you know what I'm talkin about...

And thats it!! Two great days... Four great new friends... 1000cc between us (4 bikes ) and a one night stand with the Hayabusa... What more can the Freak ask for?
