Hi! Bikers,

Its been quite a while since I have been able to meet up with you all. An on-going project on the professional side has kept me occupied and usually out of town whenever you all organised rides. And I couldn't be a part of them. Time to make up for it and then some more.

You've had a good ride to Karnal last weekend and the enthusiasm amongst the brotherhood for riding together is both inspiring and infectious. I just hope I can join you for the next one. This weekend seems rather quiet and as a consequence I propose we have a get-together at the xbhp HQ and discuss the nitty-gritty of what we love to do the most - motorcycling.

A formal subject line for what I have in mind for this meet would go something like this - Situational Awareness and its Interface with Riding Skills. Getting beyond the clinical jargon and in simpler terms, lets discuss the supreme role of situational awareness (i.e. knowing about all thats happening around you while you are on the road) and how such awareness gets you to use your riding skills appropriately. Your skills are only good enough for the situation you put them to use in. For example, you need to know the intensity of braking needed before you put your braking skills to use and brake with precision.

Yes, it'll be a discussion of the sort bikers have when they get together and talk riding. And yes, anyone and everyone has a right to put up questions, suggestions and answers with the sole aim of sharing knowledge and becoming better riders.

The Programme:

0800 hrs: Meet up at the xBhp Dhaba

0830 hrs: Depart from the Dhaba in riding formation for the xBhp HQ at Chirag Delhi

0915 hrs: Begin discussion session

1100 hrs: End of session

1115 hrs: Refreshments

Followed by Dispersal

The rules for the formation ride stay the same as always:

#1 With the chill of winter in full swing, I guess I only need to remind you all to wear a helmet. The rest - jacket, gloves, shoes, long pants etc will in any case be there

#2 Have your bike papers and DL in order

#3 Ride with the attitude of cooperation and consideration, both for your own group and for other road users.

#4 Do not indulge in inappropriate riding activity like stunts and/or unlawful actions like over-speeding/disregarding traffic lights or being a nuisance on the road.

#5 And last but not the least - come with questions/suggestions and be an active participant in the discussion session.

A Request: Please put your phones in the 'silent mode' when we start the discussion. Lets focus all our attention on sharing and absorbing as much as we can about motorcycling and make the most of the time we are together.
