Default Drag G2G - Sunday 28th

After a long time we had a G2G and what a G2G it was!, absolutely packed with action and adrenaline, since i was left out without a bike i had to tag along with my friend Kaushik on his two-month old RTR-Fi. Ever since he had bought that bike i've always wanted to drag it against it's contenders like the RTR and the 200 (yes, the 200). And what better way to do it other than on an Drag G2G?

But it seemed that today morning nothing seemed to go right, i got up late at 5:45am when the meet was supposed to be at 6:00am! by the time i got to my friends house, it was already 6:25am and Sairam called me telling that he was at Retery waiting for us, i did'nt know where Retery was (or even a what?) and was starting to get a bit panicky, but Manoj came to my rescue. So i and my friend ripped through the streets to reach the meet-up point, before the gathering left (we came in Anirudh style "ten-minutes") catching them just as they were getting ready to leave

I was finally relieved to reach in time, so after a quick hi, we started to the Sholavaram Drag strip, cruising very sedately, no-high speed antics and stuff like that, i think every body was waiting to release themselves and their steeds till they reached the strip. Enroute we picked up Sairam along the way but Jawed was nowhere to be seen (Actually that was a surprise!), and also did'nt answer his phone since morning, so we decided that the X-Crew will move on. When we reached the strip we again took a bit of a breather, it was as if we were waiting for the other guy to start the drag, i could'nt resist my self any longer and asked Vignesh (RTR) to be my first contender of the day..........................

Though we would have had atleast 20 drags today, we were having so much fun that we actually failed to check out the bikes performance properly, but we were able to get a proper perpective on all the bikes that had come to the meet, so here's my low-down

RTR-Fi:
Three.....Two..........One.........GOOOO!! i pop the clutch at 4000 rpm and the front wheel of the RTR-Fi went skywards, and i was like "ok i'm going to end up with the bike lying on top of me" but luckily i had the presence of mind to chop the throttle, but vignesh by this time was leading so i thought this was going to be a lost battle, but amazingly the Fi was able to lose the gap somehow. Everyone who had ridden a RTR earlier today said they thought something was different when the sat on the Fi version, on paper there little/no difference to make out at all, the space between the RTR and the Fi is only 0.5Ps apart but that's where all similarities end. Right from the engine note to the red-line the Fi is so different that it actually scared me. When we dragged this bike against thr RTR and the 200, the Fi lead the pack for more the 3/4ths of the strip, only in the very end did the 200 pick up, and the difference is almost close to zero! This bike is on a whole new level, and it is Scary as hell!

RTR:
This bike is a pure rider's machine, it's low-maintenance high quality product that'll do what you tell it to, no questions asked. Actually had it not been for this bike we would've been able to compare the RTR-Fi so very extensively. This is the litmus test to see how good the other bike is, sort of like the Porsche 911 Carerra. Again like it's Fi cousin this feels so different from other bikes in it's category that it is very hard to slot it in any category, honestly it's unfair for the other bike to have this bike as their competitor.

R15:
The bike that is the future of the Indian biking industry, the bike that made the bike industry sit on it's hand, the bike that made people who said "only CC matters" eat their words, a bike that is a rarity to see let alone drive one, and the bike which does'nt fit me at all! All this while i've always wanted to be a tall, but after riding the R15 i wished i stopped growing at five foot one. This bike is no wishy-washy, it means business if you are going to ride it you better know how to, cause i don't think it'll tolerate any goof sitting atop it thinking he's the best. It's built for speed and it'll give it you irrespective .period.

220/200:
After riding the R15 and the RTR's the 200/220 felt..........comfy no seriously, Bajaj brings the best of both worlds, and that a hard thing to do, in a country where mileage matters even when you ride a oil-well draining litre class superbike, the 220/200 are a rare breed of bikes that'll do a bit of everything, are you a commuter? no problem, wanna drag? bring it on, a bit of track perhaps? Ha i'm there, it's versatile and it's the only one of it's kind

ZMA:
The best sports tourer in India, for nearly a decade which is how old Kiran's ZMA is, and i lost to him whilst i was on a R15, now i'm not saying that the R15 is bad but a 20xxkms old bike against a 39,xxxkms old bike! now that's something. The ZMA is something like Audrey Hepburn or Hema malini () they're old yet theyre still graceful, and can still give the new kids a run for their money!
