Anyone keen for a weekend ride to Chiplun and back? The Mahabaleshwar route offers 5 ghat sections namely- Katraj, Khambatki, Paserni, Rudtondi and the ghat section after Poladpur. The last one is by far the best patch of road I have ridden on in my 7 year biking escapades. The route I plan to take is Pune-Shirval-Surur-Mahablashewar-Poladpur-Khed-Chiplun. The total distance should come up to around 200kms one way. Let me know if anyone is interested.

Hey MG I am pretty sure its around 200-220. I went to Guhagar less than a month ago and the total distance to Guhagar is around 270 from Chandani Chawk. Guhagar is about 45 odd kms from the diversion at NH-17. Maybe if you hit NH17 road from Khopoli-Pen it might come up to 300kms.

Where were u sagar?
Few days back i really remebered u a lot... saw this new P220 launch.... they say that its the fasted indian...fastest bike on indian roads.
I read somewhere ... R15 - max speed 129kmph
and new P220 - 135-140 kmph....

and then i remembered your video on youtube..... R15 rocked at 148 kmph... so that makes it the fatest bike.... whu says P220 dtsfi is fastest...

Hey Ankit, to be honest I won't be surprised if the new 220 is indeed faster than the R15. However, I'll wait for a shootout between the two on a neutral track because I believe the straight at the Chakan track, where all the auto journos tested the top speed of the new 220, has a decline which helps the bike maintain its momentum in its top gear. This is similar to how I managed to hit 148 on the R15. So it will be interesting to see how the bikes fare on the Chennai race track.

I would have loved to accompany u for the ride... but i plan to attend the xbhp birthday bash at the Dhaba G2G on Saturday... why don't u come along.. for the Dhaba G2G....Mastermind has offered to sponsor the CAKE (Dark Choc) from his side..apart from that calvin/motorbreath (I am confused) has also shown interest for sponsoring cake... I just dunt wanna miss that..... Wud be great to have u with us... wat said? interested... than reply on that thread....
